I was served w/ a summons from a credit card company 2 weeks ago and my 30 days is almost up and I do not want a default answer. I do not know how to respond. I did incur the debt but there are mitigating reasons for not paying (medical bills, failed real estate sale of our home in PA-took almost 1 year to sale and we were paying 2 mortgages). I do not work, so I have no income and we are insolvent. Any advice?

To answer it you need to simply number and admit or deny each of the statements that they have in their summons. You must return this to the courthouse clerk before the 30 days that you indicated.

I assume that you will not be retaining an attorney right? You need to keep copies of everything you submit.

I would start by finding rules for civil procedure in your area and then submitting your answer.Where are you ? County ?

Seriously, you should either post noninflammatory remarks or go away, I can get your IP addy, then your ports are mine.
