I've been studying responses on the forum for days & it seems like the time span varies between each action taken by a CA. I was served a "Notice of Intent to Arbitrate" in late Jan. Since then I have sent numerous letters to the CA including a DV. Can I expect to hear something positive from these people or will they just go ahead & go to court? Is this something that goes on for a period of months (which would give me time to save some $$) or is it on the downhill slide now?

Did you get a response to your DV. Did you send it certified mail return recipt? Is this theh orginal creditor or indeed a collection agency. From what I have read, a credit agency must respond to a DV and if they don't you can bring this up in court. A judge is not just going to take a ca's word, they must have proof that you do indeed owe this money.

I am no expert but I would say the time frame is different for each particular case. I am sure that someone with great knowledge on this topic will be around soon to help you out.

Hang in there. I know it seems like an impossible task at the moment but it does get better. I too was buried under a load of bad debt and I finally am digging myself out slowly, one payment at a time.

Good luck and let us know how things turn out.
