Please provide us with the dollar amount (principal) that you borrowed and how much you have paid back. Someone will be along shortly to post the laws for Ohio. If you have storefronts more than likely they are legal and can and will sue you if you do not make arrangments with them. Please list who your pdl's are with so someone can check the banking website of your state to find out if these are legal...hold on someone will be around soon.

Temsey - take a deep breath! I am not familiar with the storefronts, but have learned a LOT about the internet ones, so I'll just speak to those. I was in the same boat, and am still fighting the battles but winning the overall war :) Like you, I came to these boards looking for help, and I found it. What worked for me was to enlist my bank's help to freeze my checking account so that I could regain control over my finances and pay my bills. I opened a new account at a different bank. I then added up how much I had paid each lender, and what the remaining amount was that I owed for principal and the LEGAL small loan cap for my state. As needed, I filed BBB, Attorney General and FTC complaints. I also confided in my boss, so when that first call came, it was no big deal. Trust me, it's scary to start, but it is SO worth it to get your life back! I'll defer to others to guide you on the storefronts. Hang in there, sister!

temsey, I am going to post the state law of OH. Almost all of us have been where you are and there are many people who can help you...there are several from OH as well. Please list the information as Ladybug asked. We need to know which companies you borrowed from, which are storefront and which are internet, how much you borrowed from each and the total of how much you have paid back to each internet company. It would also be helpful to know if your storefronts are current. Once we have the names of the companies and the rest of the information, we can guide you in the right direction.
