Since I have been fortunate to find this board, I have gained a wealth of information. Since I've been home all week with the dreaded flu, I have had plenty of time to go over the pages and pages of posts from other folks. It saddens me to see how many of us have fallen victim to these predatory lenders and I am h..l bent on doing something to try and stop them, state by state, one by one, if necessary, or die trying. Many of the posts are heartwrenching but in the end everyone is or has been taking back control of their life and their money. That's the encouraging part that keeps me going. Since I have just sent out my nasty letters I am anyday now expecting the phone calls. For years I have been treating "unwelcomed" callers the same way. I just keep on saying Hello? Hello? Hello? and I then hang up. They eventually get tired of hearing my voice. I've gotten pretty good at playing stupid games so the nonsense doesn't bother me any more. Kudos to everyone on here and thanks to the "seasoned" individuals who take us "newbies" under their wing. Your good work doesn't go unrecognized.

I feel the same way. I visit this site everyday and offer any (even if it is little) knowledge to anyone who asks. This site has been a blessing to me and has helped me to sleep at night and get my relationships back with my family.

I hope this site continues to do what it does for many more years to help thousands of people just like ourselves.

Way to go debtcc!!!!!!!!

I am too in the same shape and trying to get a grip on this mess. I haven't defaulted yet. Put hold on account and will close it at the end of the month. What concerns me, is when they start calling the references. They have nothing to do with this and should be left alone.. which brings me to a question. When I write the letters to the PDLs, should i send a seperate do not contact letter from the references? Not that it would do any good but at least i feel i have covered all my bases.

white, I think roxy answered this one for you on your other thread. When dealing with internet pdls (especially the illegal ones), they will pay no mind to your request for no contact. Take it from me. However, I wouldn't be concerned with them contacting references. None of my internet pdls did. You can always go ahead and include that in your letter to them. It certainly wouldn't hurt. But, honestly, I don't believe they will contact them. I told my references about it just in case they were contacted and no one ever was or they would have told me.

VB Mom. . I work with 19 kindergarteners each morning and 13 special ed in the afternoon. Want to venture a guess on how many germs we pass around and how many times a day I wash my hands? I should own stock in Softsoap! Try as I will to hideout, those darn little germs find me somehow. Heard on the news yesterday that they missed the mark with the flu vac this year. I have had a flu shot for as long as I can remember and this is the first time I have EVER gotten the flu. It must have mutated big time. Scary, huh? It's right up there with our PDLer's. . .have a great day.
