How to stop these trolls

The moderators have know way of know who is posting. I see you are a guest and what you wrote. That is it. If you come back with a different name I will not know its you. We can delete any post but we are all assigned to different topics. We can ask that a member be blocked but not a guest unless it is a real big problem!

Banning a person is something that this board doesn't do lightly. It should only been done if someone is deliberately offensive and is obviously coming on the boards to stir trouble, like we have seen in the past.

The best way for us as members in general to fight it is to ignore it for the most part and not let ourselves get drawn into the flame war that the troll wishes to create. As well as PMing a mod to delete it.

Mods do not delete every post considered a troll. There are forum rules that do allow differences of opinions. As long as there is no name calling, bad language, or solicitation, these posts are allowed. This is an open forum, and although we do not always have to agree, we do have to allow people to post their views.

What of No Nonsense Collector. Mike has Banned his IP address but keeps coming back. I say all his posts should be deleted as part of his ban. Whenever he posts, delete it.

J, read the tos, If he is not name calling, using bad language then all of his posts can not be deleted. the Mods do know what and what can not be deleted.

Learn to ignore. It's easy. I am currently ignoring someone right now. Just don't respond.

I have to agree with JCEMT 100%!

Sure we don't have to agree with everything someone says; however, if it is obvious that someone is not just posting a "differing point of view" and is only here to be abusive and post lies, then that post should immediately be deleted, regardless of the TOS.

No Nonsense Collector has proven again and again he is just here to stir up trouble! I feel any post that even remotely resembles something he might throw up should be taken off the forum without delay.

If someone comes to this forum looking for help and they see some of the trash he posts, they may not know which is a factual post and which isn't.

Ron, read the tos, This is an open forum and certain things are allowed and certain things are not allowed. The best defense is just to ignore.

I do believe we tried ignoring "Nonsense", and it didn't work. He only seemed to step up his chicanery.

So, now you've told both JCEMT and me to read the TOS. Is there nothing else you could add to this conversation rather than advising us, who generally do stick to the TOS, to read it again?

The TOS is all well and good; however, as I pointed out "Nonsense" is adding nothing but lies and abuse to the forum. It would be one thing if he were opening a dialogue on a differing point of view; however, in my opinion, and apparently the opinion of some others, he has done nothing but turn these forums into something for his very own twisted entertainment.

Ron, I was not nasty to you, and i resent the fact that you feel you can be so rude to me. do what ever you want. I have asked a mod to lock this thread as now I feel personally attacked.

I think I'm just going to stay out of it. I'll ignore it if a mod sees it great, if not oh well. I don't know what the right thing to do here to be following forum rules so I'll just do nothing.

I think that some members ignored No Nonsense and others kept feeding the fire. I don't think he/she was ever outright ignored and I personally find it sad that out of all of the trolls that have been here for the time that I've been a member that this one person was able to cause so much disrupt in the community.

I tell ya what. I'm going to lock this thread because it doesn't deal with collections at all. Let's keep the discussion healthy in another forum. And by healthy I mean respectful.
