hi mz! the next time they give you a call, have a talk with them once and for all regarding what they are trying to say. it may happen that unknowingly you have become a victim of identity theft. i am saying there may be a possibility that someone took a loan in your name and naver paid back, and now the collectors are getting back to you. so check if you have all your credit cards and a copy of your credit report to see if you have a loan in your name. if they insist, then ask them to produce the relavant papers of the deed signed when the creditors sanctioned the loan. send them a certified cease and desist letter, return receipt requested. let them know that you are aware of the fdcpa act, and if they don't stop then you would file a complaint against them.
