I just ordered my credit reports and all three of them are listing my debt settlement company's address as my current address. So, I have tried to find out where this report came from but my debt settlement company (which I no longer am working with) are worthless and can't give me any information and I can't get anywhere with my credit card companies. So my question is this, do you think if I send a letter to the 3 bureaus, will they be able to fix this or do I need to find out why it is on my reports on my own before the bureaus will do anything about it.

I want this fixed ASAP. Any advice would be appreciated.

spatterson, they have your address as the debt settlement company's address? Not your personal address? You can go on line to the credit reporting agencies and submit a correction. At least I have been able to anyway. If they had incorrect information, I did it on line. Someone else may have more advice though. :D

Huh. Well, I would try to call them then. I'm sure they have to have a toll free number. One would think anyway. Hell, if you have to mail a letter, it'll be forever! I can't believe it won't let you make corrections on line. Insane. Do they have a phone number on the web sites? I don't remember.....

OK I am really getting frustrated. I guess I am going to have to send a letter to all three credit bureaus. I tried online, I tried telephone. For those I got through (because of the holiday), they could not do anything for me.

UGGGGGGGGggggggggHHHHHHHHHH - I never live at this stupid address and I just want it off my credit report!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think that is to much to ask for.

OK I am back to sanity. I just had a little bit of a breakdown there. Sorry

I was also thinking, I guess I really better keep a close eye on my credit report while this is being taken care of. I am sure I have credit card offers going to my new address in Texas.

s, I'm so sorry! I can't believe how hard it is to correct your own information. Unbelievable. I guess you're right. Type out a letter with the correction and mail it to all three bureaus. Also, you are right about keeping your eye on your reports. With all this going on, some pdls might hit your credit report. That's always fun. And now you have a "new address" that things could be sent to. Good Lord. I'm so sorry about all this for you. Send those letters and hopefully it'll get straightened out QUICK.

Thanks for all your help. It is so nice to be able to come here and talk to others that understand how frustrating this all this.

P.S. I don't know if that is actually your dog or if you have one like it but they are so cute. My neighbor has one and she is full of personality. She makes me laugh everytime I see her.

So, I just got off the phone with Equifax and they are investigating my address. I hope this doesn't take very long. Transunion is taken care of but Experian is a pain in the butt. I will be sending a letter out.

Regarding dogs, I am so much a dog person. I have 2 dogs plus my daughter is raising a service dog. That is 3 dogs 4 people and a very little house. But you know, it is cozy!!!!

I like "cozy"! I'm glad to hear that you've at least got the ball rolling. I honestly don't think it'll take them long. They want their information to be correct. I have found that Experian isn't as easy to get ahold of as the other two, also.

I feel your pain re: the bad address. I just now spent over an hour fighting with TU on the phone, trying to establish my identity. They had one of my old addresses scrambled. The PO box was right, but they had it listed as being in Bonaparte, IA. For my many sins, I live in Vermont!

Dispute filed.......
