Okay so here i am again. I posted last week because i was sent to the National Arbitration Forum by Gerald E Moore. I explained my case which is that i tried to deal with Gerald E Moore but the amount they were charging me was over 3X's the amount of the Charge Off of my CC company. Also i tried to make monthly payments with them but hey wanted me to make 3 payments of over 2,000.00 dollars each. One a week which i can not do. If i had the money i would have paid the credit Card. Anyway i received a letter back from Arbitration saying that the case has been stayed at the request of GEM. Great Right? Except for the fact that GEM is now harrassing me again for payments of over 2K per week again. I have really tried to deal with them but i am getting no where. In my response to Arbitration i said the most i could pay was 200.00 per month and to be honest that is really the best i can do.

So now what? Anyone have any ideas?

If you were just making 2k/week you'd have a annual income of 96k/year. That is unreasonable. If they have inflated it that much it may be illegal. Unless there is something in the contract that dictates collection fees that can be charged or interest that may accrue they must abide by your state legislation dealing with debt collection.

I know and believe me I do not make that much money. I have tried everything with these people and I just keep getting that ridiculous figure of 3 payments thrown back at me. I really want to resolve this issue but they are not cooperating at all. I have offered them 200 per month which is really the best I can do, but they won????????t take it.

Regardless of calculations if you have a copy of the original agreement please review it for applicable collection fees and interest (including revisions if they are available to you) if it does not state anything to that effect they would be bound to the contract or applicable state law.

In short they may be charging you way too much.
