In the middle of civil proceedings they want to settle

A collection agency is suing me and my lawyer is suing them back. It hasn't gone to pre-trial yet but my lawyer and the lawyer for the CA have been trading paperwork back and forth.
Today I got a voice mail from my attorney saying that the CA/lawyer has a desire to settle.
What do you think this means? Does the lawyer think they can't win full out so they think I will be stupid enough to just roll over and pay something?

It could be that they feel there ius achance they won't win or t
It could be that they feel there ius achance they won't win or that you will win on your counter claim. They may not view the case to be worth actually going to court over. You really need to sit down with your attorney and discuss this along and see what he thinks.
