Hello,
I am new to this site and don't have a clue what I am doing. I replied to some posts for advice to see how you all handled your problems with PDL's. I am in such a terrible situation. I have at least 8 payday loans and keep getting deeper and deeper in because I don't have the money to payback, therefore, I get another just to live. I noticed on some of your posts there is a place or organization called T&C. Can anyone tell me who they are and what they can do to help. Also, has anyone heard of Langhorne? I don't want to get ripped off.

Any advice would greatly be appreciated. It does make me feel a little better that I am not alone.

Thank you!

Well first off, I am loosing my nogin. I changed my password and forgot!!! Secondly, after being on the phone with a manager from the bank for 20 minutes, he waived all the fees, my balance is at zero and as a courtesy, he is going to put stops on all the auto transactions that were supposed to hit this Friday. Also as a courtesy, he is waiving the fees for those too. Once the stop payments hit, he is going to close the account and reopen another. I just can't beleive my luck with banks. This time I can honestly say that it was an honest mistake. I think I am doing good by putting money in my savings and I end up messing up my checking!!! Is it okay that tell you all the bank name? I have nothing but good things to say about them and they have a lot of perks.

dina, great news about your bank! They are certainly working in your favor, which sometimes others find hard to work with their bank. If you feel comfortable stating what bank you have, then you can. A lot of people just don't like to because of caution. You never know who is reading these posts. However, others have put who they bank with. It's up to you. I'm just glad that WHOEVER it is is working so well with you! A good "bank story" finally!

I will keep my bank to myself. You never know who reads this stuff. Yes, they did work in my favor. Now I have to call T&C. I have not had a minute to do so. Personal calls at work are prohibited and using my cell phone eats up minutes, so I have to wait until I get home. Can anyone reading this tell me what T&C did for them? If your payment was reasonable, etc?

dina, up in the right hand corner of this screen, you will see a "search box". Type in T&C or Town and Country. You'll have a bunch of posts pop up that you can read through. People talking about how they are using them, how they work, if they're happy, etc. Go ahead and type it in and read up on what others have to say about them. :D

Hi,
I'm also new to this site and pretty clueless as to how to post etc. I'm in a terrible situation and am desparate. I have at least 8 payday loans and keep getting deeper and deeper in because I don't have the money to payback, therefore, I get another just to live. I have another pay day this Friday and my check won't cover my loan payments let alone have money for bills and essentials. I live in PA, and all of my loans are from internet sites.

Hi, Sharlene! :D Do this - start your own thread. When you're on the pay day loan forum, you will see a "button" at the top that says 'New Topic'. Click on that. You can title it whatever you want, type in your information, and it'll be your own thread. This way you can find your thread easily, all members will see your post and give you advice/information. It's great! When you do post - please put your state (PA), the names of your internet lenders, how much you borrowed (principle amount only) and how much you have paid back total to date. Go ahead and do that and we can help you out!

Sharlene, Welcome to the fourm. We can help you get through this but we need a little more information. I see you posted you are from PA...would you also post who your loans are with, how much you borrowed from each and the total of how much you have paid back to each. Once we get this information we can begin to guide you in the right direction. Also, I would recommend you start your own thread with the new information so we can find you and you can you easier. Also all the information we give you will be in one place. GO to the top of this page, click on payday loan and it will take you to the main page of the pdl fourm. Click on new topic in the top right and you can post all your information there. IF you have trouble, no worries, post the information here and I will look here as well.

Okay, I am not sure what happened after I talked to the bank and he stopped payments, waived fees, etc. The three transactions went through. I am so po'd about this. I sent their customer service an email because I can't take a break yet to call them. If the manager set this up for me, why did they go through?

Okay, I called my bank and explained to her my conversation with the manager. She told me that since my account was still open, the pdl's did their automatic debit, but my bank is going to return to the pdl companies and refund me the $35 fees (again). I did tell her that my account was supposed to be closed and she was confused. Long story short, I am gong to call the bank on Monday and see where I stand.

dina, this is crazy! Did you do just a "stop payment" on them? As posted above, that usually doesn't work for whatever reason. The best thing to do is a hard debit block. However, we're beyond that point now. At least they are going to reverse the debits and the bank fees. That's a good thing. Now, you do need to get to the bottom of why they went through. Were you not able to speak to the manager when you saw what happened? When you call again on Monday, be sure that the debits ARE reversed and the fees ARE removed. And, please, see if you can speak to the manager. He needs to explain what "went wrong" and also verify that yes, indeed, these are all going to be reversed.

Update on Check N Go. The guy was SO nice. He totally understood my dilema. Anyhow, he accepted a payment plan of $50 every two weeks. I got a prepaid Mastercard that I will be using. I also told him that I would not be able to pay them on Fridays, that it would have to Monday (so I have time to desosit the money into my prepaid card). If anyone has to deal with Check N Go (First Bank of Deleware), they are nice and will help you.

Okay, I got a call at work from Pay Day Loan Yes. I told our receptionist to put the call to my voicemail. His name was Joe and he said he was from the wage and garnishment division. Do they have such a department or is this a scar tactic? They have me paranoid. I am still trying to save enough money to start with Langhorn. I just don't have it. I am in a little state of panic right now.

Also, I was going to see if I could get their "small print" and see if there is anything about garnishing my wages. I don't know if I have access to that. I could always email them and tell them I would like a copy of my paperwork. That normally shuts them up because so far it worked with Quick Benjamin.

INSERT YOUR STATE LAWS HERE

I have contacted the YOUR STATE Office of Financial Institutions and the YOUR STATE State Attorney General????????s Office regarding your internet payday loans and was informed they are indeed illegal in YOUR STATE and was advised to pay what is due according to principle amount only of the loan.

The legal amount that could have been charged to my loan is the principal amount of XXX DOLLARS even if your internet pay day loan was legal in YOUR STATES NAME. I am willing to pay the amount of XXX DOLLARS to pay the principle amount of the loan only, as advised by my Department of Financial Institutions and my state Attorney General's office.

I demand a physical address to mail payments to, as you are no longer authorized to debit my bank account. You must provide me with a physical address to mail my payments. I will not Money Gram or Western Union any payment. If no physical address is provided for me to mail payment to, no payment will be made.

I demand that any contact be made through US Postal mail or email only. I will need everything in writing to keep accurate records of all communication as per instruction from my state Attorney General's Office.

If you want to use this letter, you just need to put in the pdl name, your state pdl law, and your dollar amounts. Also, change it to fit your particular situation with each pdl. If it's overpaid, demand a refund and a paid in full letter. If it's paid, demand a paid in full letter. If you haven't paid all of it yet, stick with this one saying that you'll pay xxx dollars to have it marked paid in full when you make your last payment. You just have to fix it to fit each individual pdl.

Bayley. . .I was going to go with Langhorne as well but they seemed a little pushy to me and so many people on here were "doing it themselves" that I thought I would give it a shot. I think it was going to cost me something like $2200 to sign on with Langhorne and so far I have settled 3 out 5 and it has only cost me what I borrowed. Nothing more. I still have 2 in the fire but I am not expecting to repay more than I borrowed with them either. Of course, it is always a personal choice, and I respect that, but you might want to give it some thought.

llw1995...thanks for your advice. Langhorne wanted almost $400 a month from me and I just could not do that. Then they told me to leave one out and it went down to $260 a month. But sadly, I can not afford that either. I will probably have to settle all of this myself. Every time I think I have extra money to send, something happens and I need it for that. I just feel like I am never going to get out of this.

Bayley, you CAN do this. You can. It seems never-ending, but I can attest to the fact that it is possible. It takes time. It takes determination. It is stressful. But, it pays off in the long run. It's not going to happen overnight. But it will happen. There are many of us here that got out of this horrible nightmare. We are here to help you.

You are probably like me right now...just wish it would go away overnight...but it won't. I do not think I can afford a co. like Langhorne either and doesn't it sound a bit *familiar*? They will help but for more money and for something you can ultimately do yourself with some perserverance.
I need help in the nerve dept. too.

bayley and egypt, I swear you are not alone. I remember the feeling all too well. And it was not pleasant. I just know you have it in you to do this and come out on top! I just know you do! I can't say it enough - If I did it, you can do it! LOL! I was just someone who was "lost" and "blind". Honestly. I took every step this site told me to take. I just went with blind faith! I was just someone who stumbled here and put my entire trust (and life!) in the hands of strangers. I wasn't let down. I wouldn't have known the first step to take without this place. And I just threw my whole self into it and did what I was told to do. Then my confidence grew and I began to be nasty to these pdls! This place will help you get that confidence. Hell, tons of people giving advice, telling you what steps to take, cheering you along! I thought it was great! And, I will say, it certainly worked for me. I know it will work for you.

I have only taked to two of the pdl places and made an arrangement that I cannot keep. Has anyone else done this? Not kept their promise? I feel like such a bad person. I am ready to file for bankruptcy, but I am sure my husband will find out about that. That's another thing, I feel SO bad about keeping this from him. :(
