Less talent than you might believe, I fear. It was just a basic slideshow. And kinda hacked together, at that.

You could do similar work, if you put your mind to it. Just takes study and practice, is all. If you're interested, drop me a line. I'll point you toward some good resources.

When it comes to music, nothing says 'space' to me like that piece. I think it's one of Strauss' better works, too. Still, I suppose there are likely those whose first choice of music isn't classical. I reckon I could've used this number.......

I've always believed that we have the level of technology we're willing to pay for, and the level of government we're willing to tolerate. And yes, I'm very familiar with Clarke's works. I passed many hours with his books, back in my younger days.

Hey, you're telling that to someone whose first attempt at making my own website was a horrific mess. I just haven't bothered to sit down and force myself to try again. I do, however, keep a blog on MS's spaces.live.com. They make that pretty idiot proof though, even I can do it.

I don't think I'll be beating you to any flash animations anytime soon. You could probably do it in your sleep, where it would take me days at best.

And you coudln't have gone wrong with a Bowie piece, as far as I'm concerned. Space Odity would have been great too. Or, how about "Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper?" I liked how they used that as the opening to "The Stand" miniseries back in the mid 90's.

I didn't read a lot of Clarke, back in the day, I was more a Heinlein fan. I've kind of graduated to being more of a horror fan; Clive Barker, Anne Rice, Steven King/Richard Bachman, Richard Laymon, etc. Still manage to read a little sci-fi though, mostly Star Trek and Star Wars, though.

If you like Fantasy and Humor/Satire, and think they'd go great together, I highly recommend any book by Terry Pratchet. I have to say, he is currently my favorite author over all. He wrote a series of novels that take place on "Discworld" and he tackles everything from politics to religion, and most everything else, in those books. Great reading.

But I'm rambling.

Yeah, I can pretty much do it in my sleep. But I've been doing it for some while. I still have some of my real early attempts, BTW. But there ain't no way in hell anybody but me is ever gonna see them.

Read all of Heinlein, too. I got to meet hime once at an ABA convention a couple of decades ago. Arguably, the most intelligent person I've ever met. His wife Ginny played a mean hand of cards, too.

Lemme leave you with this... Look for books by F. Paul Wilson. He's known for his horror/suspense and medical novels, but his SF is tip-top. He's won the Prometheus Award several times.

I was actually hading to the used bookstore tomorrow; was planning on trading a stack of books in on some new ones. I was hoping I could find his latest out on paperback. I can get lost in the bookstore for hours!

You just have to be a bit careful about wikipedia - Anyone can edit a page and add whatever info they want! So there is always a chance that someone made something up . . . . But overall, it has a ton of great info. :D
