I am just trying to figure out how to pay off the last 2 credit cards that I have. I have read different opinions and am just wondering what everyone else thinks.
Should I pay off my lowest debt off first (this debt is in collections and is not accuring interest) or should I concentrate on my big debt that is at 18% interest and with orginal creditor.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

hi! i think you should start with your lowest debt first. you will also have the burden of one debt off your head. because you never know when the collection agencies start forcing you to pay up. so its better you pay them off first. next, you can slowly start paying up your larger debt. some one more knowledgeable will be soon here to help you. good luck!

Depending on your state, credit cards in collections do accrue interest.
But I would pay off the small balance first, especially if its in collections. Get that paid and over with.

Thanks for your advice. I am going to pay the smaller amount as soon as I can. I thought about it and I figured the faster I can pay that debt off the less stressful my life will be.
As far as the interest in collections, everytime the tell me how much I owe they tell me the same amount. There has been no mention of interest. Do you think they will come back later and tell me I owe more? I hope not.

Yes, it is a discovery card that went into a collection agency.
Yes, it is a discovery card that went into a collection agency. It is not reported on my credit report as a collection or anything so I am not sure if it still belongs to discovery. I tried to contact discovery and they told me to contact the collection agent regarding this account. I am really not sure how any of that works. I just want it to be paid off so I can put this behind me.

Yes I tried to settle and they told me discover will not settle for anything less than 100%. The collection agency is Zwicker. I have read all the bad things about them and I have already paid quit a bit to them. Thanks for all your good info.
