The only simple way to put it is I was young and stupid and didn't realize the importance of credit.
I began getting credit card offers right after graduating highschool and just signed myself up.
I maxed it up just as quickly as I got them.
I never paid on them. I went to college and kept spending any new cards in the mail and never once thought how it would affect my future.
Now I am married (5 years) and have 3 boys, ages 5, 3, and 9 months and I am faced with the consequences of my actions from my past. I cannot get a car loan without a high interest rate.......I cannot buy a home. I cannot finance anything or get any type of credit.
We have to live pay check to pay check because of my stupid past mistakes.
We both filed bankruptcy in 2005 and we still cannot get credit offers.
I wish I could take it all back.
I have even made mistakes after bankruptcy.
It is so overwhelming. My debt is small now.......in fact 1 tax check could take care of it all but it always seems something comes up and I have to allocate that money for something else.
Where do I go from here?
I want a better future for my kids.
Glad this community is here.......!

Welcome to the debtCC community. Most of us on here are/or were where you are. The only advice I can give you is to just pay down your debt and never make that mistake again. Your credit score can be repaired and your mistakes will not stay on your reports forever (even your bk). As far as paying your debt, I can understand that something always comes up so just pay what you can. Rest assured if you work at getting out of debt, one day you will be there. You did not get into it overnight and you won't get out of it overnight.

Glad you found us :D
