I see listed on my credit report a BofA charge off, an FIA CSNA late 120+ and a "Portfolio" collection. Last I knew I owed MBNA. Why has it been split up now into the three and how do I verify what is what - how do I contact these three agencies? I don't know what "Portfolio" is nor how to contact FIA CSNA. I understand that FIA CSNA collects for MBNA/BofA but what is Portfolio? Why the Three now?

hi guest--

are you talking about three separate entries on your credit report for the same exact debt? Are the dollar amounts and dates, etc etc, all the same or mostly the same? Same account numbers? If so, the simple solution is to dispute these with the credit bureau--tell them that they are reporting the same debt three times on your credit file and it is illegal to do so.
