My ex husband acquired credit cards in my name without my permission during the course of our relationship. I included these debts in my divorce decree but there a creditors that still will not remove the accounts from my credit. Be advise and I am located in Texas.

A divorce decree does not take you off the debt! The decree may assign who is going to pay the debt off, but you are still legally responsible if the other party doesn't pay.

In order to get off the debt you will need to contact the creditor and provide proof that you did not sign for those accounts and that the signatures are forgeries OR the easier method is to have your ex refinance these debts in his name only either through new credit cards and transferring the balance or through a debt consolidation loan. But I think the creditor will tell you at this point that they will only remove you if it is paid off

Debt Free gives the correct advice. I'm the guy who did this. NO not really. But I do have the situation with my ex and they did not even care about the divorce. The fact that I held her sorry *ss harmless in the divorce settlement only means that after they successfully come after her and collect, I have to pay her back with costs.

A husband signing a wife's name may appear to automatically be forgery and by definition probably is. However, if it was discussed, used for marital expenses or otherwise marital debt the fact of the signature may not be the key.
