I used PrivacyGuard.com for several years, but it was recently acquired by HSBC Bank, apparently, and renamed. Their charges have jumped way up, too - from $79.95 per year to $12.95 per month ($155.40 per year), so I canceled my service.

So, can anyone recommend a good credit reporting service which will provide 4 to 6 credit reports per year, and has credit report monitoring service, at a reasonable price? I'm suspicious of this "FreeCreditReport.com" - they advertise too much, meaning they must be making out like a bandit from tricking people into paying for something they thought was 'free'. Thanks.

the credit reports are free, the other services however are not.the fee i was told was 29.95 a month.
something to think about.

Most credit monitoring services are between 9 and 15 a month. Each of the 3 CRA's have monitoring services for themselves, and also a triple credit pulling service as well.

They won't give you your FICO score unless you pay for it most of the time, but will give you a FAKO instead.

there are other services, sometimes provided by your credit card companies (like American Express) too that are similar in price.
