United Cash Loans is part of the wonderful MTE family . These illegal guys will never give up. I am so glad that you know that all they can do to you is make these idle threats.
United Cash Loan
I also had problems with United Cash Loans until I filed a complaint with the OK AG office. I have not heard anymore from them. I also have the letter from the investigator office she wrote to them. The told her in a letter at my account has been marked closed.

Heard from UCL again today; but when I asked for valid contact #s, they actually gave me 2; both are 800 number, so they're not really good for anything! If anyone wants them, they're 1-800-354-0602 (customer "service") and collections 1-800-410-9275. These yahoos have the nerve to ask me if I don't feel guilty about what I'M doing to THEM!!! Anyhow, I called the Commissioner of Financial Regs here in Maryland and told them about the call (I keep them informed of all e-mails and calls I get); they said they already had a "cease and desist" order against UCL and are (or have been) working with the AG. But I guess if so many of these PDL's are physically located in other countries, it's hard to enforce anything. Now, you will excuse me while I go bury my head in a pillow and sob out my heart because I'm feeling so guilty about what I've done to UCL...... :D

These folks are getting very pesty, I just got another call from them! I told them I'd been in contact with the State of MD, and that a "cease and desist" order had been filed. They actually had the nerve to say that they worked within the laws of ALL States, and that they're not illegal in Maryland!! I asked "even if the State of Maryland says you are?" I tell you , they'll say anything, won't they....

They said the same thing to me when I told them that they were not operating legally, I had already paid more than I borrowed, and they would never get another cent out of me. I think the lady's logic was something along the lines of "Well we put the money in your account didn't we? How'd we do that if we're not a legal company?" I'd like to see them argue that concept in court!
Now if they call for me I just tell them that the only way I will communicate with them is through the BBB and give them my case number. They usually hang up before I can even read off half the number. When they call my boss, we just play games with them.
The people at Maryland who I'm working with said to just hang up
The people at Maryland who I'm working with said to just hang up on them; I'll ask them if I should go ahead and file w/ BBB, as they've been handling everything else. Yeah, United Cash tried that line of thinking with me, as well about putting money in my account. As I mentioned above, I asked them if they'd be willing to send me something in writing on company letterhead stating that they are in fact operating legally here, but that didn't go anywhere. I tell you what, if I ever get involved with PDL's again after going through all of this, I DESERVE the harassment!

i wouldn't worry,if your HR person is that dumb however you can sue your own company if they deduct anything without a court order, but get a WAGE ASSIGNMENT REVOCATION LETTER to your HR person to cover your bases.

Ms. D, did you close your checking account altogether? That's what you'll have to do to stop UCL from draining your money. These companies have many different tactics for getting into your account if it's not closed or at least not put on "deposit only" status. I also agree with PaulMergel, get that wage assignment revocation letter in place; I seriously hope that your HR people wouldn't take money out of your pay based on a phone call, but it can't hurt for you to be over-cautious at this point.

Yes i have this crazy people, united cash loans calling me also .Is there any laws in Ny to make them stop ?

If UCL is the company where you got a PDL, I don't think there's anything you can do to stop them from calling; I could be wrong, if so, please someone correct me? And as they're nominally located on Indian tribal lands, they're immune from prosecution. Oh well, I can keep hanging up as long as they keep calling. And, this being tax refund season, I'm sure everyone who's closed out their accounts so PDL's can't get their money will get more calls, "allowing us" to pay what we owe (!!!!) with our tax refunds!
If you are experiencing issues with this company...
do the following:
Mail them a cease and desist letter. In addition, contact a Consumer Rights Law Firm. They will be more than happy to assist you. :) KNOW YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS!

I live in Maryland too and I get periodic calls from UCL. The even call my relatives. I have already called the Maryland Commisson of Financial Regulations. At this point I just ignore their calls. It's been about a month since they last called me so I'm sure I'll hear from them again real soon.
