Back Taxes, Credit Card, Student Loan... where to start???
Date: Tue, 03/11/2008 - 12:02
Overwhelmed single mom of 3 with no child support, (recently divorced), disparately seeking direction to mend financial disaster: divorce 'fall out'.
Total debt exceeds $70K. Combination cc, taxes & student loans, all past due. I have researched until I am cross eyed: debt settlement, consolidation, cccs, bankruptcy, financial advisor's/planners... & have yet to find a plan I feel good about.
I know how I got where I'm at, I know my goals & have already adjusted spending as such. I have owned my own business for 10 years & have done well, but am in a rebuilding mode after taking time off again due to divorce. I am experiencing promising growth in my business, but haven't been able to get my mind around where & how to begin dealing with this debt.
I am wondering if there is a 'one stop' trustworthy source that will take a wholistic approach to a situation & help deal with creditor calls that are escalating as I sit here.
Am I asking for something that doesn't exist?
I just found this forum today & it seems awesome.
Many thanks to all who have posted before me, I have learned a lot already.
Sincerely,
J.
