Prefered Method of Payment to CAs

What is the best payment method? I am hesitant to send them a personal check; I do not want them to have access to my account #s. Is a bank issued money order, accompanied by a request for payment received verification via mail, an acceptable approach?
My other concern is, how do I know that this debt is in fact completely closed once I send off payment? Is there a specific form/statemant I should request from the CA? Has anyone ever experienced/heard of a debt resurfacing under the origial creditor and/or additonal CA, even after settling w/ a CA?
I just want to have peace of mind that once it is paid, it is over for good. Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, I should have add this when I posted originally. This is what I received from the CA in the mail on 3/10/08:
We recently were asked to respond to a credit inquiry by one, or more of the nations credit bureaus (i.e. Experian, Trans Union, Equifax, etc.) on your past due account. We Will inform the credit bureaus upon receipt of your payment. We provide several immediate payment methods that do not require you to visit our office. Please contact our office now to make arrangements.
Do you think this is enough or do I need to request addition info/verification prior to sending off my payment? Thanks!
