I recently defaulted on a payday loan with CTC. They are now calling me at work and leaving messages for my manager. I explained on why I was not able to pay and explained that I would be able to pay in full on my next payday. They said I signed a wage garnishment form when I signed up for loan and now are saying they are going forward with it. Do I have any options here? I live in Ohio and the loan is in the amount of 500.00 and I pay in full each time and then do a reloan. I have never dealt with a company who really treats you like a 3rd class citizen. The rep I spoke with got very argumentative and wanted to know in detail what bills I paid instead of paying my loan with them. Any help or comments would be appreciated.

rhoffer, they will send a wage assignment ( which is different that an wage garnishment) to your payroll department...they are well known for this. You need to write them a letter revoking any wage assignment you may have signed with them and get it to your payroll asap. All you have to do is write I rhoffer hereby revoke any wage assignment I may have signed with CTC. Sign and date it. Fax it to them and mail it and give a copy to your payroll.

I borrowed 500.00 and pay it back in full and then do a reloan. Will this keep them from calling my manager?

Hi rhoffer, I am in Ohio and had a loan with this idiotic company as well. You need to go to the website for the state of Ohio attorney general and file a consumer complaint against this company. That is the only way that I was able to get them off my back. The attorney general's office will be happy to help you as they are very concerned about these predatory lenders, especially the illegal ones.

It's very important that you notify whoever necassary at your job what's going on. It's not all that embarassing, and it's worth it. My office has actually made a game out of irritating these people. Today my boss played along that she was happy to help and would transfer them (MTE) to the payroll department. She then transferred the call to me. I said I'd be happy to garnish Dan6243's wages, they just need to send me a notarized email. I wonder if they're still trying to figure that one out.

Thank you for all your help & suggestions. I will visit the Ohio Attorney Generals website. I have also faxed them a letter to revoke any wage assignment and faxed a letter to my payroll company. Just for general knowledge.... What legally can they do to me now? I would like to have as much info to come back with when they call again.

Legally, they can't do crap. This is a highly illegal company. All they can do is call and harass you. I quit taking their calls after the first couple times because there is no reasoning with them. I would file your complaint with the AG and forget that CTC exists. Did you close your bank account or put a block on it? Don't let these fools worry you, they are as I said, illegal as heck and their threats don't mean anything.

You go, sass! sassnlucy is soooo right, rhoffer. These guys are WAY illegal. If you have prevented them from debiting your bank account, revoked their wage assigment, filed your complaints, you're good to go! They can't do anything but call the hell out of you - and they will. Legally, they can't do squat. And, I love sass's quote: "forget that CTC exists". Excellent advice!
