Here is a list of my payday loans and the amounts I have paid. I live in VA.

ameriloan - $450 - pd $725
Nationwide Cash - $400 - pd $925
500 Fast Cash - $350 - pd $575
Paycheck Today - $300 - pd $360
Global Financial Services - $225 - pd $540
Quickest Cash Advance - $300 - pd $360
Quick Cash 911 - $500 - pd $765
Upfront Cash - $500 - pd $925
Upfront Payday - $500 - pd $1,135

I really can't beleive how much I have paid out. Once I get all of this taken care of I will never do this again.

It looks to me as if you are done. You seem to have way overpaid these people. Your first step is to close your account to prevent any more money from being debited. Please read the sticky on the top of the pay day forum to be sure you can do this correctly. Open a new account and do not give the number out. Once this is done you can begin to file your complainta and send your letters. we are all here to guide you thru this.

After finding this site and reading the sticky about closing bank accounts, I went and talked to my bank at lunch. The guy I talked to said that they would need to see some kind of confirmation that the PDLs received and accepted the stop payment letter for the bank not to accept the any ach debits that came after I closed my account. Does that even make sense?

Woohoo..you go Kash... Also, Olivia, i posted on your other thread that the pdls have to be licensed in VA to lend in VA, by looking I can tell most of them are not going to be..there are a couple I am not familiar with so I will check them for you. YOu have way overpaid these people and can do this yourself if you are up to it. It takes some work but most of us have been there and can help you and hold your hand through this.

Yeah...she waay overpaid them.. I know most of them from us dealing with them will not be licensed, so it would not be as difficult for her to deal with these herself. I am worried about her bank though so I am really glad you posted that information. I just wanted to add the one bit of information from her other thread so we can try to keep all her information on one thread to make it easier for her.

Thanks everyone for your assistance. I have been looking at some of the letters that have been posted on this site to see what I need to send to the PDLs. I want to get the letters finished this weekend so they can be sent out Monday. I have another payment due next Friday and I just can't keep up these payments. I will take that electronic funds act to my bank. One good thing is I have changed jobs since I received all of those loans, so they can't call me at work!

ameriloan borrowed 450/paid 725/OVERPAID 275
Nationwide borrowed 400/paid 925/OVERPAID 525
500FashCash borrowed 350/paid 575/OVERPAID 225

QuickestCash borrowed 300/paid 60/OVERPAID 60
QuickCash911 borrowed 500/paid 765/OVERPAID 265
Upfront Cash borrowed 500/paid 925/OVERPAID 425
Upfront Payday borrowed 500/paid 1135/OVERPAID 635
Please, take the advice given here. Close that bank account ASAP. You need to stop these guys from debiting. If your bank needs letters in your hand showing that you contacted the pdls and revoked their debit authorization, you can type up quick letters to each one and take them into the bank just to show them. Do NOT send the pdls anything until your bank account is to the point to where they can no longer debit (whether it be closed or a hard debit block on). You don't want to tip the pdls off before the bank account situation is taken care of. Do you need a letter to use as a "guide" to type these up for the bank?

Here is a link to a sample letter that you can send to the pdls, you will have to change the information to suit your needs....

PDL;
https://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/iowa-pdl-law.html

I overpaid all of mine...in the body of my letter, I would change the section where you have paid and you only owe...to you have overpaid by $$ and you are demanding a refund of th overpayment. Of my nine pdls, I received 3 refunds..smaller than my overpayments, but something was better than nothing.

Thanks so much Roxy. I took a look at the pdl licensing and it seems like all of those are storefront pdls. Does that mean that none of the internet ones are licensed in VA?

On another note, I really don't remember picking my name when I signed up for the community. Is there a way I can change it?

IF the pdl is not listed then it is not licensed. Most of the internet pdls are not there are one or two that are. Each state law is different...yours states that the pdl has to be licensed in your state...mine prohibits internet pdls all together...Good research. As for your name, if I remember correctly (and I am sure someone will correcto me if I am wrong) send an e-mail to Jason at
jason@debtconsolidationcare(dot)com or you can pm him and tell him what you wan to chage your name to.

olivia - like roxy posted, if you want to change your user name, send Jason an email. He will help you with that. That way your name won't be on here. He can also help with removing your name from the posts already here.

Also, as roxy posted, if you checked your state licensee database and these names did not come up, they are not licensed. When I was doing the numbers for you, I could tell by their names they were almost 100% not licensed for you. However, it's always safest to check. So, if they didn't come up, you can call them unlicensed/illegal to lend to you.

Now, regarding filing complaints and sending the pdls the letters. Let me just say - do NOT send the letters to the pdls until your bank account is to the point to where they can not debit. Do not let the pdls know anything. Get your bank account closed/blocked before sending those letters, okay? If they get the letters and they still have access to your bank account, they are going to hit it for all they can. So hold off on sending them until the bank account is straight.

Also, I have to "touch on" filing with the BBB. I know roadwarrior posted to skip the BBB; however, it's just my feeling to report them to the BBB anyway. Number one, because it'll add to the number of complaints against them so people can see these companies have had multiple complaints filed. Also, on another note, I have had a few of my pdls resolved just through the BBB. I didn't even have to involve anyone else. Now, the BBB isn't a WHOLE lot of help. They like to close the complaints fairly quickly. However, at least 3 or 4 of mine were resolved through the BBB alone and I received refunds. So, I'm a believer in filing with the BBB. I also filed with the FTC and my state AG. Hell, I filed with everyone I could possibly think of!

Just wanted to throw my two cents in. If you have any questions, please post!

Thanks for the responses. I sent Jason a note yesterday asking for my name to be changed.

I am just trying to get everything in place so that when my account is closed, the letters can go out the same day. I already opened a new account and I am hoping to be able to close my current one by Tuesday at the latest.

Olivia...You are doing awsome. Excellent work and research on your part. To add to another point Cannr posted about...With the BBB, I too had 4 of my nine pdls resolved though the BBB and received refunds through the BBB on 3. Now, the refunds are not normal and are few and far between, but something back was better than nothing. I would file with the BBB even though on 5 of the nine, they could not help me and it was a dead end....even if they help you with one, it is worth it. I wrote out my complaint as a fourm in my word processing program, and my requested resolution and then copy and pasted into the fourm for each BBB..of course I changed the names of the companies and information as needed. It went rather quickly that way. Keep up the good work!

Well, I came here in June 2007 with 12 internets and 5 storefronts. Fun!! I think by November almost all were taken care of except the nasty a$$ ones that my AG finally got taken care of for me (hell, I ignored them and let the AG handle it). The internets were taken care of by probably November/December(?). The storefronts were done (finally) by January (?). I'm guessing the months, as I like to "block out" the whole pdl ordeal! But, we worked our BUTTS off to get this done! I had to add that!
