Been there done that... and am in the same situation. Got to the point that the PDLS were taking all my money and i had nothing to live on..had to borrow from my sister just to get through the month of February..had no food..I was so ashamed, i have a 16 year old and didn't have enough guts to tell him the truth. Found this site and am getting great advise on what to do...It is going to take some time to get out of this mess but i know i need to do something..I am getting phone calls from Webpayday at least three times a day.. (they call at work, home and cell) i just let the voice mail take it as i don't want to deal with them yet. will pay what is legally owed to them and if they don't like it tough doo doo.. Hang in there as there is and will be help on the way.

wow, your story brought tears to my eyes because it is just so similar to mine. My problem was the opposite though, in that my wife was spending out of control (her gambling came into play---I really really HATE 2 things, gambling outfits and PDL companies!!). I mean I would go take out a PDL to cover the costs of bills we couldn't pay, and she would go to the gambling outfit with the money I had just gotten from the PDL!! I love my wife dearly, and she would never do this in the right state of mind, but I have learned just how real an addiction gambling is and put a not so quick stop to it. Now that the gambling is stopped, it is time for me to quit my addiction, my addiction to trying to stay ahead of being completely broke and unable to pay any bills. I think what you need to do here is post what state you live in and the names and types of PDL companies you are dealing with (internet based or Store front). Then these guys will work their magic and give you great advice!!

More or less we all are aware how the pdls work. But still can't stop falling prey to them.
I'm sure that you have already paid them way above than what you actually owe. And IMO can stop paying them now. Please answer the questions asked by rod. We need to find out the legal nature of the pdl businesses in your state. Also add the amount, originally taken out by you.
Your story is sober enough, wish you soon find a way to come out of it. Keep us posted.

Ginurse, we can so relate to what you are going through. You can break free of CTC, but you need to take some steps. First off, you need to close your checking account and get a new one, so they don't have access. And don't give the number to anyone, and I mean anyone!
Second, if you can't close your account, I would go to payroll and stop your direct deposit--and have them give you a paper check if needed. That way, you start to have control over your money again.
And finally, and this is the most important with CTC, get a letter over to Payroll IMMEDIATELY revoking any wage assignments you signed with them authorizing them to go into your paycheck should you default. This company is notorious for doing this, so do this SOON!
Then sit down and total up everything you have paid these people with rollovers, and chances are , you have more than repaid your original loan. Also, check to see whether they are licensed in your state--and there is a very good chance they aren't. Let us know what happens, OK?
