If there is money borrowed on a bank in the UK and I go back to America can the UK come after me in the States???

Can they come after you? Yes. They can call you, send you demands for payment, and so on. However, there is a law in the UK that states that any legal action to be taken against a debtor for nonpayment of a debt must be taken there. They couldnt sue you over here for that debt. Someone else in here, not too long back, had mentioned that law, but I dont recall exactly what it was called. If I recall correctly, the law states that any legal action arising out of debts originated within the UK can only be commenced in the jurisdiction where the agreement originated, or something to that point. It effectively means that the only way to sue a defendant would be to do so in that specific court. The person that posted in here was in the US now, and was being sued here in the US by the creditor in the UK. He was planning to use this law to have the lawsuit thrown out. I would start there.
