Well, I'm getting calls from these people too--contantly!!! My original debt was with Capital One. They apparently turned it over to Worldwide Asset Purchasing, who in turn, turned it over to RFM. My credit limit on this card was $300, but their stating that I owe them almost $800. I am willing to pay them, but $500 over what the credit limit is?? I think not!! Are these guys legit? Are they licensed to collect this debt in the state of Illinois??
You can do the following: Send them a debt validation letter.

- Send them a debt validation letter.
- Don't show your intention regarding paying off the loan. Wait till you receive their reply on the DV letter.
- Strictly tell them to stop calling and to make all the future communications in writing.
And do keep us posted on their reaction.
