after 7 years collection notice
Date: Wed, 03/19/2008 - 15:34
Back in mid 2000 I moved to different state couldn't find any old credit card bill to call and change my address. Last month I got letter from collection saying they bought bla bla bla and now I owe them money and I have till end of Feb. to contact them otherwise action will be taken. Can collection company still come after me after 7 years already? What should I do?
Thank You,
Lynn

They can't take legal action against you if the debt is out of the SoL where you currently reside but they can still collect. Their rebuttal to not changing your address with the creditor will be, it was your job to call them and make the change.
Send them a debt validation letter to see if they can provide documentation for the account.
