I am just looking for advice on what I should do.

I would first get any information about the account you can, it could be pushing the limits of SOL depending on the state your in. I really don't think that this will be the case since most Stats its 5 years and this would be only 4 at the most.
I would if you have no other chose the company suing and at least setup payments. If you want to take a chance and go to court have all or as much documention you can and you may be able to at least cut down on how much you will have to pay back.
Mas
I don't know all the particulars of your situation, but take it from one who made the mistake of not appearing in court. Appear in court!! If you don't a judgement will be filed against you and they are early impossible to get removed especially for a "no show". The only thing you can do to avoid a judgement is to offer some kind of reasonable repayment that the judge can accept, no matter how little. The judge is not symathetic to collectors of credit card debt. I am in the 7th year of a judgement and can't borrow money as a result of it. If you cant afford the payment, simply tell the judge what you can afford. Hope this helps
Lemme ask you some questions, if I might... What state do you
Lemme ask you some questions, if I might...
What state do you live in?
When was the last activity on this account [charge or payment]?
Have they sent anything else to you, other than a summons?
