Yes, I would say there are.
There are some places out there that charge very low rates, lower then the max, and are very nice to work with. There are some out there connected with Credit Unions and such that charge only like $4 -$5 per $100, and don't just follow the law, they do better then the law. If the law says the loan term must be for at least 2 weeks, they say it should be at least a month, if the law says they can charge $15 per $100, they charge $5. Stuff like that. Plus they are extrememly easy to work with and treat you like a human.

There are also some really decent storefronts in some states. Amscot in Florida does a lot for the community there, and I've heard that they are very easy to work with and their rates are very competetive. It's the only storefront I've never heard anything bad about.

I thought some of the folks I had them with for YEARS were *nice* until I mentioned that I wanted to do a *paydown* to pay them off. I figure some I had for 10 years or so? That is about $1440 a year in fees.
But of course we know that I pay it off every week and rewrite a *new loan*
