I paid off my payday loans in Dec 06 yet Friday I got a call from someone named Victoria Pagent saying she was calling on behalf of Apollo and the usual threats of taking me to court. I've moved since then (TWICE!) and can't find the PIF letter - all I have is my bank statements , certified mail receipts and money order stubs (as the last payment was made via moneygram)
Has anyone else had this happen? What did you do?

Keep looking for the PIF. But in the mean time send them a debt
Keep looking for the PIF. But in the mean time send them a debt validation letter. Make them try and prove you still owe the debt. They will try to collect forever. They will sell it off and then someone else will try to collect. They are hoping that you forgot that you paid them off and will pay them again. I have three companies trying to collect on the same debt, but as none of them will send me anything in writing they are out of luck. I will pay as soon as I get something in writing to protect myself. Keep your copies of your bank records, mail receipts, and money order stubs.
