I had moved from Florida to Korea about 6months ago and thought I had all my credit cards payed off but still had money on 2. I dont get any of my mail and didnt relize till I looked at my credit report. Now the debts are with collecters and with no account numbers or phone numbers to contact them I dont know how to take care of it. I cant really call because I dont know who to call and I'm international so cant really sit on the phone. Its not all that much and I would like to take care of it but dont know how, Was hopeing that yall could help me with this

Call the credit bureau reporting the collection and they will tell you how to contact the collector. Once you have that information send a letter to the collector asking them to validate that the debt - there are sample form letters on the site. Once you determine they legally own the debt (they could have sold it to someone else) - then send them a letter offering to settle the account - start with 40% of what you owe and work from there. Before you do anything with the collection agency, I would call the original creditor to see if they will let you settle with them. Sometimes they just farm out their collections but still own the debt.
