Beign sued and no money. What to do?

Hello,
This is not my situation yet but could be. I am putting almost all of my income per month into a debt settlement program. I have about a 100.00 to play with.
If one of my creditors decides to sue I can't pay anything.
What would be my options from this point. A lawyer told me that I would have to go for chapter 13 if I couldn't afford to pay them.
Any help or guidance would be great.

If you are using a debt settlement company, I dont understand why a creditor would sue you. Isnt that what your debt settlement is trying to avoid?

i too am puzzled.which settelement co are you with?some can't and won't give legal advice or counsel,while others will represent if nessecary.
i would talk to the settlement co about it.
