E-payday loan has sent my account to Alliance Asset Management which is a nasty collection agency. They are wanting $540 today. I only owe $210! This pdl company is illegal right and what about this collection agency?? They told me I was committing an federal offense in the state of Tennessee but the pdl is an illegal company. What should I do? I want to nip this in the bud before they start calling my work and driving me crazy! Thanks for your help!!

yes,it is.be sure to stress that you will file a complaint with the ill AG.i have a complaint,ms madigan goes after agencies like this with enough complaints.

I rcvd several phone calls from my work regarding the same thing. I never heard of Alliance Asset management. I asked them to send me what I owe and the supervisor of collection got really nasty with me. He threatened to do something about my account without my permission. I had him on speaker so my supervisor heard him. she got on the phone and advised him to stop calling disrupting a workplace. He had the nerve to get a little nasty with her. I never rcvd any debt letter stating that they took over my account. I'm planning on writing to the company as well, requesting an outline of my debt. As far as my work, they're planning on pressing charges against them for harassment. thanks so much for the info. I truly needed it. Especially when they refuse to supply me with anything.

:confused:Easily the rudest people I ever talked to and possibly the dumbest. The debt they were calling me about was valid but only 3 weeks past due. They first told me that this was a curtesy call and they were not required to contact me. Second person told me they were only required to make one attemp to contact me. Constant runaround about so and so not authorized to do this and they will transfer me to someone who is but as it turns out isn't. When I asked for a letter for my records the person got very very rude and told me he did not have to send me a letter and that they were marking it as a refusal to pay and hung on me.

ooooooo the dreaded 'refusal to pay'. Don't worry..they are just barking at you. If they call again inform them that they DO have to send you a letter, by law they have 5 days to follow up a call with a dunning letter. Next time they say they will mark it as a 'refusal to pay' answer with, "of course I refuse to pay a debt you SAY I owe without one shred of proof I actually owe it."
