Anyone ever dealt with CBCS

Please avoid return to that call. I guess they are a fraudulent organization, (though I don't know their true identity but they are neither telemarketing organization nor a collection agency).

They are into some sort of scam which requires your valuable information to be disclosed to them. Just hang around for more inputs from other members.

CBCS is a collection company. Their website states that they are licensed to operate in all the 50 states :shock:

I am not sure whether tweety and I both are talking about the same company or not. She can be right too, CBCS can be into scams. :roll: Deal carefully with them.

I almost had to deal with CBCS and they are a collection agency. I never had contact with them because a medical bill I had was sent to them by mistake. If you do talk with them, just be cautious in case it is a scam. Try to deal with them in writing if necessary. They should have sent you a letter stating that they were collecting a debt anyways. And even if they are a collection agency, you do not need to give them any personal information. Never give a collection agency permission to withdraw from your accounts.

I received a letter from CBCS for a bill I owned to Verizon. I did get behind on my bill a couple years ago because of some personal issue that was going on. I no longer have a land line. They said if I paid 60% of what I owed they would write off the rest. I sent them a check for $123 hoping this would settle the matter. The check has never clear through my bank. I received another letter stating I must pay the full amount by the end of the month. I'm concerned that if I send them another check they will cash both and I will be scamed out of the original $123 check. I'm going to stop payment on the original and contact Verizion to see if I can pay them directly, if I still owe them.
