Help me!!! I have been lurking around for awhile and have learned quite a bit, but, I'm afraid it was too little too late and now I'm terrified of what might happen this Monday. I had a couple of storefront pdls which I will (thank goodness) be able to payoff this Monday. But, I also have internet pdls that are going to be due and the money is not going to be there. I have contacted my bank and have signed a stop draft order with them. They were very understanding and helpful and promised that the ipdls will not debit. BUT, what are the pdls going to do to me? I have the following:

webpayday 400 (have not paid anything yet)

ashland funding 200 (paid 60)

little loan shop 200 (paid 85)

discount advances 280 (have paid nothing, but this is a "reloan" so I have paid enormous fees on the previous loan)

Am I going to be in serious trouble for blocking them from my account? I have contacted them, and needless to say, they are NOT very cooperative.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

I am new here as well; but have been going through my mess since the end of February.

I do have a question about your bank account; you say that you have signed a stop draft on your pdl's? Most of these companies will go back and debit your account under a new name or change the amount. I was instructed to put a hard block on my account instead of stop payments. I seriously think you need to visit your bank again and request to do so. Only let credits go in.

My other fear is that you have contacted your pdls before you knew for sure that they wouldn't go through. And it scares me that they may even debit for their whole amount due..

I don't want to scare you; but warning you...

That is scary. Today is the day for me. They didn't manage to get into my account, so I assume that I will be bombarded with phone calls or emails within the next couple of days. What is to be expected? Can anyone tell me a little about how to handle these calls when they come in. I don't want them calling references or my supervisor...

A bit of good news, however. I went in to pay off a storefront (yay) and was told by the manager (who is actually an ok person) that all pdls are going to be closed down in SC within a year. He said that their store is going to convert into a finance company.

Ashland Funding is apparently a d/b/a of a "parent" company. I at least got a telephone number of 1-866-722-2770. Now, when I put this telephone number in the BBB site, three "pdl companies" come up. So, Ashland Funding must be a d/b/a of one of them. The three listed are Platinum B, SJM Marketing, and EZ PayDay. Do you have a loan with any of these pdls?

Wow! Cannr you are good! I have one with Ashland Funding. Are any of these licensed at all? The latest from Webpayday is if I don't send a $220 moneygram tomorrow then they will report the account to third party collections and possibly report me to chexsystems and/or seek involuntary ways of getting the money. Can they do this?
