MG38, You cannot go to jail over an internet payday loan. I know this just from reading this forum. Its a scare tactic to get you to pay them. More than likely they are illegal anyways. If you would like help just post what state you live in, the comapny(s) you borrowed from how much you took it out for and how much you have already paid even if it was interest only. Someone will be along to help you shortly

So you havent even paid interest? Why do you owe 492.32?

Oh ok I understand now. However from what I have learned here you are only MORALLY responsible for paying back the original amount of the loan. Especially if they are illegal to lend in your state. I guess you can be thankful that you havent paid them an ungodly amount already in interest only. Like myself Ive paid a few places 900+ on just a 200 loan. Good thing you closed your account before that happend.

mg, I'm not even showing these guys as licensed. First of all, they are feeding you B.S. I'm just being honest. Do not write them any kind of check. Do not give them any kind of bank information at all. You do NOT owe 492.32. You borrowed 190.00, correct? How much did you pay them back? Anything?
No I havent been able to, I have had more of these and paid off
No I havent been able to, I have had more of these and paid off like three already (storefront) and i am just trying to pay them off as best as i can. i have been planning to but have not gotten to them.
They called my work the other day and I work for a school. I will be very POed if i loose my job over them calling all the time. They have not started that yet, but they probably will.

I just checked your state licensee database just to be safe. These guys aren't licensed. You can pay them what you can when you can. No, they can't force you to pay them over 400.00. You owe them 190.00. That's all. You can send them a letter stating they are not licensed, revoke their debit authorization, post your state law, contact you only via email or USPS, etc. They probably will not pay attention to it; however, they will at least know that you are only paying 190.00 and not a penny more. You only owe 190.00, okay? Do not let these people scare you. You can take your time to pay it also. No one is going to come and get you. Nothing bad is going to happen to you. This is what the unlicensed/illegal companies do. They know they they can not LEGALLY collect this money, so they try to scare people in paying it. If you have any questions, please post!

Thanks. When I called this lady back yesterday there was no poerator or anything it just goes right to her phone and she answers which I thought was odd, and if you call after hours it goes right to her, and says you have reached the desk of valerie martin.
Thanks so much
How to you check those licens things??
Thanks agian

I have a loan out with them as well. It was for $600. I've had the loan extended 3 times so i've paid interest. I can't pay them right now so I closed my bank account. I live in NJ. They just called my job but I have my own desk so if I need to curse them out. I will.
What's the whole deal with them being illegal. Being that they are illegal do I really have to pay them back??

shelly, pdls are prohibited in your state. As paul stated, we do advise to pay back the principle amount of the loan - no additional fees. The reason we advise this is because the money was deposited in your account and you did use the money. So let them have their amount back that they deposited and nothing more. I'm posting your state pdl law for you to see.
