Received an email from a different PDL. This one says i owe them $510.00 (not) and they also show a different acct# than the one i have.(i borrowed $300.00 and have thus far paid back $180.00) so i don't know where they are coming up that i owe $510.00
Here's the funny part. they have you go to the "recovery/payment section of the website and it gives you the payment options, one of which is paying by CREDIT CARD (VISA, MASTERCARD ETC.) I wish i knew how to copy and paste the email on to this thread, tried and i couldn't get it to work.
By the way at the end of the email it tells me NOT to respond to the email. (BS!! to that, do they think i am going to call them? i DON'T THINK SO.
Anyway my Question is this:

1) Do i email them back and ask for an audit of my acct and where they come up with the $510.00

2) email them back with the statement of what i borrowed and so far paid and offer to pay the remainder of what is left owing of the balance.

white, when I filed with the BBB (and no question is dumb!), the correct BBB just "popped up". It depends on the address you have for the pdl. If the pdl address is in OK, then the BBB will just direct it to the BBB in OK. If the pdl is in NV, then the BBB will just direct it to the BBB in NV. If you're unsure of which address is the correct address, then file another complaint with the other address you have on the pdl. It'll be directed to the correct BBB location.

Thanks for the help..I just am waiting (I guess hoping) that maybe ameriloan will respond to the BBB and do so in my favor. If not then i will go to the AG and file..By then the PDL will have turned my acct. over to a CA and then another phase of the game will start which is what i am trying to avoid.

white...I settled with ameriloan, pretty quickly, after I filed with the BBB. They contacted them once, I refused, they countered and I paid what was the original amount of the loan. Done. As for the AG's office, I am still waiting to hear on ANY of my complaints and three of them have already been settled. That's New York for you. . . .a day late and a dollar short! Now if I can just get UsFastCash out of my life. . . . .

latest update. Got to work this AM and today is normally our day out of town so we don't answer the phone. So the phone rings, and i answer and LOW AND BEHOLD IT IS ameriloan on the phone, told them i was out of office, lady left number and extension to call. Get home and receive an email that my account has been turned over to collection department. Question: do i again send another C&D letter to them?

Whatever you do, don't give them your credit card number, or they'll bleed you for everything they can get. As I'm finding out, these companies are devious and will do and say anything they can to get more and more money out of you. I agree with you, you'd think if these companies were legit that they'd accept a money order for payment of whatever they're owed. However, money orders, etc., are easy to trace, so guess that's one reason they don't want to accept them. And as for them giving you legitimate addresses? HA! I've been asking United Cash Loans over and over again to send me something in the mail on company letterhead, WITH a valid address and phone number (not one of those 800 #s) saying they're licensed and legal in my state -fuggedaboudit!! :D

Please help!

I have taken out some payday loans and I live in MN I have made payments on these accounts but they are telling me that they were only interest payments not actual loan principal payments. Since they would not work with my on payments I went ahead and closed my checking account. They of course have tacked on several hundereds of dollars worth of fee's. Please help I would like to resolve this on my own but a few of them have turned me over to a collection agency.

One of my companies is
e paydayloan.com who turned me over to the law office of Vincent P. Cignarale, 5100 Transit Road, DePew, NY 14043

I am reading other threads and the interesting thing is that you all are telling me that pdl are not legal in NY so how can a NY firm represent this?

Please help!

PDLs are illegal in New York. Good question. There are many things that PDLs do that have no rhyme or reason. I am not comfortable interpreting the law so I am sure that someone will be along shortly to help you with this. I too am in New York and have resolved all my PDLs on my own, if that helps any.

The law firm probably doesn't even matter. What state do you live in? Did you have a store front or an internet PDL? How much did you borrow? How much did you pay back (actual payments, not what they SAY you've paid).IF the debt is legit, a NY law firm could sue, as long as they are licensed to practice law in the state in which they're suing. It doesn't matter where they're located.
