is midland credit mangement a fly by night company?

send a dv and limited c&d letter.the company should be more specific than that.if they fail to comply,then they are a fly by night,ham and egger CA.if that is the case.someone should be able to help in that respect.

As for the letter, you can find a good template for a debt validation letter (including the partial C&D) via my signature. Send it certified mail, return receipt requested. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

I have some information on MCM. They had an account for me and sold it to another CA. I can most def. give you some info. I am at work right now but I can send you the info later when I get home.

I may be the exception to the rule (norm) but I was able to settle an account with midland a couple of years ago. They were also helpful later when I had lost my evidence that the account was settled and faxed me a letter on request. They gave me no problems at all.......I know it's odd

Did you call before you sent the money?If they had your account them may not any more. My advice it to talk to a live person before you send anything then get everything in writting.
