NO RESPONSE TO VALIDATION LETTER

They have my BOFA Account and I am trying to call Bofa to make a settlement. They did not contact me about my debt but instead contacted my husbands ex-wife about my debt as she lives in the same state that they are located(Atlanta). She gave them our house number and they call several times a day. That was really embarrasing as my husband and his ex does not get along at all. I know I better do something before they come after me.
VALIDATION LETTER
I WENT AHEAD AND SENT ANOTHER LETTER. I AM STILL TRYING TO FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE SUBMITTED AN SUMMONS. I'M HOPING THEY GO AWAY. FROM WHAT I READ ABOUT THEM THEY ARE A TRIP. I READ ON BUD HIBBS ABOUT A CLIENT WHO HAD AN BOFA COLLECTION AND WHEN THEY CALLED BOFA THEY SAID THEY NEVER GAVE THE ACCOUNT TO HANNA. SO I WOULD CHECK INTO IT. GO OUT TO BUD HIBBS SITE AND CHECK IT OUT. IT IS SCARY TO THINK THEY ARE FALSELY REPRESENTING BOFA. THIS IS WHY I WANT VALIDATION. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE SOMEONE WHO WORKED FOR THEM ADMITTED THIS. I witnessed one collector calling a bank to verify a account and when they would not give it to her she called back stating the account holder was deceased and was settling her will and need the last known address. SO WE NEED TO STAY 1 STEP AHEAD OF THEM. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANY CALLS FROM THEM. JUST THE 1ST LETTER AND ONE THAT JUST IDENTIFIED THE ORIGINAL DEBTOR. SO THAT IS KIND OF SCARY.
Looks like they already gave your husband $1,000. By telling you
Looks like they already gave your husband $1,000. By telling your husbands ex about the debt (unless she is a responsible party) is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and you can sue them for $1,000 in statutory damages, plus punitive damages, attorney fees, and court costs for their violation.
