Debt Settlement Agreement
Date: Fri, 04/04/2008 - 19:51
I had joined a debt settlement company and I felt they were'nt doing a good job so I wanted to drop their service. They had pointed out that this agreement they have says that due to early dropout that I agree to pay $500.00 or 5% of the total debt amount which ever is greater. Well that's around 3100.00 I have to pay.
I haven't been in the program for thirty days any ideas as what I can do?

Hi xray, I think you have just picked one of the bads in the lot:( However if such terms are written in the agreement that you have signed, then you may not have other option other than paying them the amount.
I'm not an expert in this field. So just hang-in, some expert will shortly be around with a solution. :)

I want to keep eveyone updated on my ongoing situtation so I was thinking about doing a blog here on the site ot let everyone know different things that happen ie: lawsuits, settlements ect.

Sounds like things are 'ironing out' ( wish I could say that with a few issues of my own..) Good. Can you please give us an update? Is OVLG 'related' to this forum? Are you getting 'satisifaction' with 'fixing' things?
Debt Settlement Agreement
Xray - I am happy to hear you ironed things out with OVLG. I have posted on here before about OVLG, as I signed up with them about two months ago, and I really do think their customer service so far has been wonderful! Nick and BG go out of their way to try to keep my mind at ease. One thing that has happened to me is that I was behind on all my accounts by the time I signed the agreement with them. As soon as I made my first payment, Nick sent out all of the letters and power of attorney to the creditors, but some of them have still not stopped calling me, both on my cell phone and at work. I just make sure I update my call log on the secure client site. When the creditors threaten me, I note it on the call log, and sometimes it makes me anxious, but Nick is always available to talk to me when I call.
Let's face it, being in debt is not a pleasant situation, and having to admit you are at the point where you can no longer handle your debts is also quite unpleasant. But, any time I am feeling anxious about a creditor call, or letter, all I have to do is pick up the phone (during business hours of course) or send an e-mail, and Nick is right there to answer my call, or e-mail. To me, customer service just does not get any better than that.
