Hello, has anyone ever heard of these people. I received a letter on the mail yesterday in reference to a home alarm service I had, and when I lost my home on Oct 2005 (Hurricane Wilma) i spoke to three different people in the alarm company and cancelled this service because I did not need it till my home got repaired. Now I rec this letter stating that I have a balance of $1182.97 and that i need to pay it within 30 days to avoid further actions. (Always something)

I would suggest contacting the original creditor first to see if you can't get this figured out. Apparently they did not cancel the service as requested. Also the collection letter is violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. In this case it is overshadowing as they are trying to force you to act before you have the opportunity to request validation if you would choose to do so. In this case I would be suggest requesting validation, why would they choose to wait 3 years to collect on it?

If you need a validation letter template you can find one via my signature, be sure to send the enclosure to the collection agency certified mail, return receipt requested.

I referred an attorney to you a couple of weeks ago that handles Florida cases on a contingency basis. Had you called him this could go away real fast. If you lost the info PM me and I will give it to you again. He is working for me and no one dares bother me any more. They don't even send letters. Why go through all the work and aggravtion yourself?
