Hello, My name is Joe and I have 10 pdls out right now which I can not afford to pay , I live in Maryland and have tried to join a pdl paydown service, but, have gotten no response back . I have already closed out my bank account, what else can I do ?

Please list all of your pdl's (who they are), how much you borrowed, how much you have paid back so far and if storefront or internet.

Have you made contact with any of your pdl's?

Also; someone will be by to post your state laws..and give you more advice...

Good luck.

Christy,

More than likely you will need to close your account out; but first we need some information to determine your next steps...

List the pdl's you have, how much you borrowed and how much you have paid back so far. What state you live in and if your pdl's are internet or storefront..

thanks....

these payday loans were all from the internet
250.00 cashadvancenow
390.00 usfastcash
271.96 paydayavenue
296.55 paydaymax
390 quickestcashadvance
520 upfrontpayday
1230 dr cash
520 speedypayday
200 sjm platinumb
200 paycoadvances
I reside in the state of maryland and am thinking of joining a pdl paydown servce with fidelity reserves.
I did receive a disturbing call from quickest cash advances who turned my account over to a collection company, l.r.a, they said that if i dont pay what i owe to them shortly they will go to court to bring up felony charges on me, what are the laws of maryland over any of this? any help would be greatly appreciated.I got myself into this and dont know how to get out. thanx.

They conducted business illegally in your state, therefore, they can't take you to court.

Welcome! One good thing is that they are prohibited in your state. I am in New York and they are prohibited there as well. I think it works in your favor. Listen to Shazz and post what you owe. It is a process of emailing, faxing, and calling but it can be done. One step at a time. One thing that is important though, is to notify the processors once you start the ball rolling. Any questions you have can be answered as you go along. Keep us posted.

Good Evening, I live in NC and payday loans are illegal as well. The collection agency is using a tactic that is illegal. You would need to contact the FTC, BBB, Your state's AG and their state AG's office as well. Hang in there, it is a hard fight but once you get free you will be free indeed.

Dawn, I think that closing your account is your best course of action at this time. There are a few pdl's there which are totally unlicensed/illegal. I will get back with you on those pdl's, if someone else has info on this before I get back to this, please by all means jump in here! Please read the information at the link below before closing your account.

I too am with the state of Maryland and had several PDL's. As you have read they are illegal and I talked to someone with Maryland Financial Regulations and letters were sent to all the lenders explaining to them that PDL's are illegal in Maryland and to cease and desist and lending practices in the state. I also worked with Langhorne to pay off only the principal. To date, with their assistance I have paid off all my PDL's and got my life back. Langhorne will work with the lenders to set up installments and they deal with them lenders. The key with Langhorne is "Communication". If you get a settlement offer and cannot pay the whole amount, please let Langhorne know immediately and they work it out with the lender. This keeps them off your back and you can breath again.
