It seems that mine maxes out at 5, earlier it was 10, prior to that it was 20.

I've noticed tonight while posting that it is true. For a "normal" post that would have gained 20 points is now 10 points. What used to be 10 points is now around 5. I actually just noticed this tonight. I guess I hadn't paid much attention, but JCEMT and Shazzers, I see it also. Something new? Which is fine! But it did catch my eye!

DebtCC points is directly proportional to the money earned by DebtCC. We were #1 in Google (prior to last quarter), now slipped to #7 in last quarter and because of that we are getting less visitors. Whenever the earning falls, the debtcc point system (an automated script) adjusts (with a round off). I will ask the technical team to look into this matter as well.

How can we get back to #1 position? I was asking my friends and everyone asked me to keep working and helping people, one day we will jump back to #1. What else can we do to get back to #1?

Thanks
- Vikas

I also noticed that less points were being earned per post, but like some of the others really was not too concerned about it. I feel like too much emphasis is put on the points. That is not what we are here for. I personaly think that sometimes they are a detrament rather thn a help. Please no hate mail. Just my feeling.

Hi Vikas,

It is always good to see you and your dove. I have an ideal. It is possible to have a forum just for kids with adult supervision? I know as a child if my parents where able or had this type of tool back then that I may not be so "credit challenged" and may not be or have gone thorugh the nightmares and horry that I have cuased myself by not knowing how to handle or deal with credit, etc. If this is possible, please let me know how I can be a part of this and lets keep the children on the good side of credit and also this would help to bring us up to #1 with Google again.

Thanks,
Luke

I agree, it should be on top again!! I have always told my friends about it,and to pass it on to others. I also send the web site info to my address book on several occassions as a reminder, so they will have the info handy..karen

You rock, with our attempts I am sure we will soon regain our lost position. Let's keep helping people, thats our mission.

do let me know what else is needed. How will we have kids participating in it? We can start with our own kids. May be we can teach parents as well on how to teach financial topics to their kids.

Now this touches my heart....I volunteer in classrooms teaching financial literacy to schools in my area...more in terms of life skills like "what is a savings and checking account", "what is a credit card", "what is a student loan" and so forth The program is sponsored by the bank I work for and they provide the materials.

Many banks and community centers should have great resources available to help this site and get the message to kids and young adults.

I'm going to try and be a lot more helpful in some of the forums even if it's just to let someone know that their question or problem has been heard.

We also need to really let the troll crap die fast and stop posting "cute" comments in order to get them off of the first page faster.

I think there also needs to be less going off of topic in all forums with the exception of The Pub including spamwich where see a lot of post where there are just smiley faces with absolutely no text, nothing at all that can be helpful. Those who don't frequent the forums often and who are new do not understand the little personal jokes from the regular members.

We need this site to be number one. This is one of the best sites around that doesn't exploit the regular Joe needing help. Let's make it happen.

I think this is a great idea, Luke. I know that as a child, I was never educated on credit, because my parents were of the old-school "cash only" school - never used credit cards, never even had one, until about 10 years ago, when they found out they couldn't rent a car without one when they needed to. So now they have ONE card, and only one. I was never taught how to use credit, so when I came of age and was offered credit cards, I did what most people would do - took whatever I could get, and quickly got over my head when I couldn't keep up with the payments.

I'm taking great pains to teach my kids about credit, having made my own mistakes - and I think having a forum on this topic would be great! :D

only surf occasionally here but agree with kash 100% ..if it's for pennies paid why care about 1 cent when it might have been 2 cents?

I also think that is a good idea, my son could really use this at this time as he is now trying to establish credit.

Another note back to the points we earn, is there just a general place that you can donate them to as I will never cash my in, but thought when we donated them for Mike-I almost missed the deadline. If we had a place we could just put them in and when something like that came up the points are there, or something to that effect.
