Kids do watch what you do….and I know she has watched and listened to me going on and on (mostly about LVNV) :)

You are right about kids watching and learning-alot of times they watch what you do, rather than what you say.
When my son was young, we were in a store and he wanted something. He was told before hand that that week, there wasn't any extra in our budget. I told him this again and he said, "well, just write a check for it"! AS soon as we got home, he got an educational "seminar" on banking and how you have to have money in the acount, you just can't write a check

OMG, too funny!
My youngest is famous in our family for his repeated references to the ATM - "can we go out to eat?" "No, I don't have the money" "well, just go to the ATM and get some!"
Guess they've seen me use that machine a little too often! Like you, Bossy, there have been many "teachable moments" with my kids when it comes to money! This site has been a great asset - I've taught my older son (16) all about credit and payday loans through my work with this site. Every person I help through a payday loan situation becomes a lesson to the kids.
 Don't underestimate a small but working brain :)

Golden, I think sometimes we forget what sponges they are and I know I forget that mine has ears and is usually listening when I think he is not. This story is too funny!
