Hello,

I am looking for a good, reliable dmp without damaging my credit too harshly ;). Does anyone have any negative feedback regarding Care One Credit? Can anyone recommend a reliable and trustworthy debt management Program?

I mainly used Town and Country for storefront pdl's. I had a few accounts in collections but no active credit cards at the time. I did see on their propsal they have a spot if the CC would reduce your interest %. I'm not sure what happeneds if the CC says no. I did have a couple of medical accounts that was in collections. I ended up paying 100% of the balance if that helps you out any. If I can help any more, ask me, I'll try to answer them.

Thanks. Did you just pay T&C , a certain amount of money and they paid all of the creditors you had on your 'list'? Do you have to have .." so-much debt" to qualify with them?

There is a certain amount I believe you must have to qualify with T&C but I do not remember what the amount is. What happens is if you should decide to have T&C manage your debts you pay them a retainer fee. I believe its $205 now but when I signed on it was $155. This fee is refundable once you complete their services. You give them a list of creditors and account numbers and they send out proposals once you pay your retainer fee. You should be able to reject a offer they may receive if it????????s not good enough. I do not know this for sure, when some companies counter offered the monthly payment they asked me if I can afford it or not. You pay them a monthly payment and then they pay your creditors a monthly payment. I think they charge 10% of your total debt for their fees.

For what its worth, I've been very pleases with Money Management International out of Texas. My local CCCS office in Illinois is operated by them. Been with them for 6 months and have no complaints. All accounts except for 2 w/3rd party collectors were VERY easily put on a dmp plan. Fees are about 40 bucks a month. They've paid on time and have been very responsive/helpful with any questions/issues I've had.

and no this is not an advertisement and I don't work for them :-)
