I have six total Payday Loans totaling about $3000. I changed my bank account and decided to hire Langhorne. These companies are not only calling and emailing me but are now calling the two people I used as references when I got the loans telling them I owe them money and they need to get in touch with me. What am I supposed to do? Langhorne won't talk to them till four business days after my payment to make sure it clears. I live in Virginia and I don't know if these were even licensed here.

PaydayMax $300
Americashadvance $1000
Cashback $700
Cashadvancenetwork $400
Quickest Cash $300
PayDayToday $300

Can anyone help me? I have made myself sick with worry and I am not even sure I should have gone with Langhorne after reading the posts here.

Thanks for any advice.

Guest, I looked up your pdls for licensing in VA. None were licensed in VA. You have two choices. You can wait for Langhorn or you can do this yourself. Unfortunately there is no sure way to get the pdls to stop calling your references. You can send them a cease and desist letter telling them they are prohibited from calling you, your work or your references. All communication will be in writing only. However, many times, that does not stop them. As for your references....tell them you applied for a loan with companies you did not realize were unlicensed and illegal in VA. You have indeed paid back what you owe and that you are working with your bank and the VA Bureau of Financial Institutions to rectify the situation and that you are sorry they are being bothered. You can have your references claim they do not know you are, simply not answer the call or tell the caller they do not care about the situation. I know this is stressful for you..especially with them calling your references...they are trying to embarass you into paying them...It is your decision whether or not to continue with langhorn. Even if you decide to use them, you can still come here and post if you need to. We are always happy to help.

You will find the Payday loan laws for Virginia here (just select your state),

Hope, Glad to see you registered. You are NOT facing criminal charges. They are trying to scare you into paying them. Yours are not licensed by the state of VA to lend in VA, in short, they should not have lent money to you. The amounts you posted, is that what you borrowed or what you paid back.. Could you list how much you borrowed from each and the total of how much you have paid back to each.. NOw to answer your question, the first thing you would do is close your bank account if you have not already done so. The next thing you will do is send the pdls letters. Here is a link to a thread where the letter is posted. You can look at the letter and see what it includes..This letter can be used as a format for the one you will write. You will need to change the information to reflect your situation.

The amount I listed is what I borrowed. I will have to check back but most have been paid at least that amount or more in fees. I have closed my bank account and that is why they are all starting to call demanding money. My sister is so mad it isn't funny. I never should have given them good phone numbers to reach them. Thanks for your help again...

I have repaid all but two loans in fees..Cashback I still would owe $100 and Americash Advance $200. I checked with my state today and there are no licensed online lenders in the State of Virginia. Americash called my work today and left a message stating that if i did not respond by 5:30PM tomorrow with payment arrangements they were going to turn me over to collections and notify the credit bureaus. I didn't think they could do that?
