It seems a frequent topic in the world of payday loans is off shore lending. The reason lenders go offshore is very simple…to avoid legislation. The reality of the situation, however, is that they are not at all offshore. They register companies in places like the Bahamas, or Grenada as we often see, and claim to be offshore entities not bound by the laws of our nation. Cute, but not quite reality. In fact, they live in our communities. When you see a lender licensed in New Mexico there is a good chance he lives in Philadelphia…maybe even Rittenhouse Square if we’re looking for specific neighborhoods. You see, offshore payday lending is not at all about being offshore. What it is about, however, is payday lenders taking advantage of the laziness of those that enforce our laws. Simply put, the front lines of legislation are interested....

James....I think with all the different addresses these groups use, many would think that they WERE offshore and using drop boxes in the states. Your take is quite different. You seem to have information on many different aspects of this system and again, curiosity abounds. I find your information, enlightening and each post throws out the "hook" which keeps me interested. And yes, this forum is amazing.......the people on here saved my sanity.

no catch. i have a job, kids...this stuff just takes a while to write! i don't want to end up divorced over it! Please check out my writings at usapaydayloan net. I really want the opinion of those here. I have extensive marketing experience and I plan to use the names of PDLs to own their reputation. From there, we can expose everyone that does business with them. I plan to shame the ones that enable pdls and one day stand before Congress putting a nail in the coffin. I have the ammunition and, with the help of those here simply reading and responding, there will be a unified platform.

kolodin....you and I are similiar in that I too want the answer "now". I guess it is just that this entire situation is so frustrating to me I want to wave a magic wand and make all of them disappear! James....I did read your article.....very interesting. Leads me to another question. I know that you said you are in marketing. Is that where the connection lies? Just how DID you get all your info? I still want to go to Congress with you. When I get on a crusade I don't give up until I see it done. Blessing and a curse in my life. Keep the info coming.

kolodin....isn't it a royal pain? I wish I could just learn to be patient! The more I find out about this nonsense the more impatient I become. I only have two out right now but I want them gone as well. I hate waiting for the "other" shoe to drop and I don't like surprises. My hope is that James can turn this around and accomplish what he is setting out to do. Nice to know that all of us just may be part of that plan.
