I can pay these one at a time but I don't know how to make them stop taking the money from my account. Help me please !!!!

kpepper, welcome to the site. Many of us have been in your shoes and will be more than happy to help you. You did an excellent job listing the information we needed. Here are You will find the Payday loan laws for Connecticut here (just select your state),
http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/explain-pdls-laws.html

You will need to close your bank account or atleast put a hard debit block on the account so the pdls no longer have access to your money. When you open your new account we suggest you open one at a different bank to keep the accounts from being linked in any way. Here is some information on closing your account. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to post them.

I am going to ask a moderator to move your post to the Getting Out of Pay Day Loan Help fourm. There are many members that can and will help you there. :D

kpepper-I don't think I can help except to offer support. I have been reading stuff on here for a couple weeks and you should to. These guys really know their stuff and offer a lot of help. I wrote stuff down on a legal pad and kept it handy so when these jokers call me, I know exactly what I need to say (they upset me with all their threats and yelling) But reading stuff here has really armed me with some good information so I can deal with them. I still have knocky knees when I get off the phone, but it isn't quite as bad as before.

Hang in there.

Thanks so much. I can tell the people on this website are great. If I had any money, I would pay to join :) I already went to my bank and will close my account on Friday, once I bring it current. I also spoke with someone in the state Dept of banking and she actually suggested this website and sent me some state CT law stuff to attach to correspondence when I write the PDLs. I guess our attorney general is well aware of this problem and is working to oulaw this kind of thing and educate as many as possible.

Don't feel bad....I'm from Ct and in the same boat. This website has made me feel so much better about everything. If I had not found it I would be paying those horrible fees for at least the next year.

kpepper, welcome to this site! When I came here, less than a month ago, I too felt really stupid. I was scared to actually tell anyone excatly how much trouble I had gotten myself into. But I did, and the people on this site have been so supportive and helpful. Hang in there, listen to the people with experience on this site and everything will get better!!!!

I can not even tell you how much better I feel already, just to be doing something. I have been unable to sleep and all I can think about is paying these people back. I even got a part time job but the money goes so fast, I can not work enough to keep up.
I am going to open an account at a new bank, then close my old one. I am doing that tomorrow. I had to make sure all my other bills were paid before I closed it.
I have read the other posts so I guess once that is done, I should contact the companies. I found a letter on one thread that I can send them all, even though they are very rude when you ask them for a mailing address. I don't want to call them too much because I don't want them to know what I am doing.
Thank you all so much. I can actually sleep tonight :P

Thanks so much everyone. I am sending all the letters tomorrow via certified mail. I want to make sure my account is really closed first. I opened a new account at a new bank. Thats OK, right? What do I say to them when they start calling??? I am sure they will call.
