I have had trouble over and over. I get it fixed and then a situation appears and I use cards and accept offers that no one should be sending me to begin with.
I have been through debt consolidation 13 or 14 years ago. Then 3 years ago I enrolled in a program that was a lawyer's office in Ca that did the contacting for us. We paid it all off but one company and they are not bothering us at all.
Now I have $1000 here and there and some business debts from owning a small business on the internet with no employees.
Things are bad and I take responsibility of course, but I need to end it.
Should I just contact these people? I have been ignoring countless phone calls because I have no income coming in from the business and it is all business related.
My husband pays our home bills and has everything current but there is no money from his income to help me so I am on my own.
Help.

Hi

Welcome to the forums.

Credit is a very important aspect in identifying your financial worthiness. It is better to pay off all your past debt because your credit is judged elaborately when you are looking for a new car, a home or even a job.

If you leave your past debt unpaid, it is going to hurt your financial standing in the future and you might find it hard to solve these problems later.

You can solve your debt related problems with ease if you wish to use a consolidation program for this purpose.

Try to avoid new credit and see if you have other ways to increase your monthly income. This way, your efforts will be more on reducing the debt rather than building up new ones.
