I have been gone a long time after watching this forum practically self destruct with personal bull and very hurtful posting.I had made a decision to back off and let myself cool off for a period of time. I will say I am debating coming back but it will have to be slowly as I have some serious family issues to sort through.Wish all of you the best!

Reason for posting here is to limit my message to mods and admin.

Hey cajun! We really miss you - you're an asset to this forum, and I was very sad to see you missing in action for so long. But I certainly understand with everything that was going on here and things going on at home.

For those who don't know, there have been members that came and made trouble and then left, and caused a minor split in the board. A few (very few) members and a couple of mods left the board and haven't returned. They caused a lot of heartache, hurt feelings and anger between members with their actions before they left, and they attempted to take members with them both before and after they left. Through it all, the board has continued to grow, and our admin has, I'm sure, learned a lot from the experience on how to handle things like that in the future, and we are still here. We have an important mission here, and we need to stick together and not have a lot of dissent in our ranks.

I've said it before, and it bears repeating: any time you have so many people with their varied personalities and viewpoints gathered in one place at one time, there are going to be disagreements. It's how we handle those disagreements between members that defines us as a community.

Cajun, I really hope you'll come back when you can. You were a voice of reason during a very difficult time on our board and we could definitely use your help! :D

I heartily agree. Some time you have to sit back and take care of Number 1, you! that is why I have been less active than in the past. I still think this is a wonderful community, and people can find much help, guidance and friendship here. Unfortunately those in the collection industry are threatened by consumers learning their rights and responsibilities and making their pathetic job harder. AS a result their only recourse is to waste their time and ours by coming here and attacking people, and disrupting the community.

How can we stop or control it? I don't know. I would say ban them (some how, and virtually impossible to do any way)? But that would be bad, as there have been people from the industry who have come here (Jedi Mistress Ari and FYI come to mind) who have helped many people, and there may be other out there who can and will also help some day. Any ideas how we can stem the tide on this one?

Hey Cajun, glad to see you're back. When Vikas posted a list of the inactive mods and you were on it, I was afraid you weren't coming back.

Eliminating guests would only solve part of the problem, I think. Because then the trolls would just use these "disposable" email addresses to register, and then they would still post garbage.

I think it will take more of a mod presence, for us to constantly be monitoring new posts and zap them right away before they cause problems.

Welcome back Cajun and LCW. Its nice to see you back on the board. I understand that you became frustrated and had decided to leave. But I am happy that you????????ve decided to reconsider your decision.

I would rather celebrate for this, because it implies that we were successful in doing what we have intended to???????.make people aware of their rights, suggesting them the ways to deal with these loan sharks. I????????ll do a happy dance for this.

I would say ???????NO???????? let them come and talk crap???????.we can take-on them on board. We have a whole bunch of experience and dedicated community members who can take a good care of them. And it????????ll also tell the other visitors of our site that whatever suggestions are made by the members here are true and helpful.

Let them participate as long as they are not crossing the line of modesty.

Thanks to you guys for coming back. Now we have a stronger team and can take the battle on from here.

Regards,
Jason

Cajun, good to see you. I hope everything turns out well for you. You are in my thoughts.

It's amazing how a message board can affect us! I can relate to what all of you are saying, I was hurt very badly by some people last year, and I am now extremely careful around here. I really enjoy all the mods, though, and I'm so glad we have this private forum!
