I am currently getting my wages garnished for Approved Cash Advance (they did not want to accept the $50 that I could pay every two weeks so now they are taking $217 every two weeks for three weeks instead, oh joy). I have to pay Check First this week and also finish up with 1st Choice Cash Advance, but they were willing to work with me. I have three more PDL's with Express Check Advance and Urgent Money Service, and Advance America. Oh, I forgot to mention that I have two internet ones, one with Cash Transfer Centers, which I now find out is Sonic, and another with payday-loan-yes.com. The amounts are:

Check First: $168 dollars total, nothing paid yet
First Choice: $112 left, two more payments, yay
Express Check: $575, rolled over MANY times, but none showing as paid
Urgent Money Service: Rolled over twice, owe $345
Advance America: owe $575, but they are working with me for $50 every two weeks

I have not paid CTC/Sonic anything yet and owe $341.
AS for payday-laon-yes.com, I have paid $120 in fees and the original loan was for $250 (no idea what I owe).

By the way, I live in Virginia and should know better. This Steven Cross from CTC and Time from payday-loan-yes.com are really starting to make me annoyed.

Are there any recommendations of how to better dig myself out of my hole?

Welcome to the forums. Do not worry there is light at the end of this tunnel. First you must revoke your wage assignment with CTC. They are very quick to contact your employer. Show your payroll the revocation letter. See if your storefronts are members of the CFSA. If they are they should make arrangements with you under CFSA rules. Is your checking accout still open?

Luckily, my company does not honor wage assignments, only garnishments. The other PDL companies will make arrangements, but only for $100 or $150 every two weeks. I can't afford that, and now they are threatening legal action, as in garnishment. I offered $30 to $50 since I have to pay multiple people, but they will not accept the smaller payments at all. And no, the checking accout has been closed for a while.

Jon, what Frog is talking about is a wage assignment. What you are talking about is a wage garnishment. A "wage assignment" may/may not have been attached to some of your pld's. A "wage assignment" can be sent to your employer regarding taking out wages. However, a "wage assignment" is voluntary on the part of your employer, if they have a copy of you revoking it. They don't have to honor it if the pdl sends one in and they have a copy stating you revoked it. A "wage garnishment" is court ordered and can not be revoked and your employer must abide by the cour order.

The maximum they can take after getting a judgement is 25 percent of your net income. That is after taking you to court. Send them what you can and see if they accept it. Keep records. If you are making regular payments and they are accepting them it would not be worth going to court. They would not get any more than you can afford according to disclosure of your income and living expenses. Do not tell any of them about the others or they might rush to be first on line for your pay.

Approved Cash Advance is actually done as of this payday, but my pay is still being garnished for a medical bill of my husband's. We were joint account holders, so they came after my pay even though the bill was a result of his ER visit. I will not see a full paychech until the middle of August, unless the other PDL's decide they want to garnish too. I am sick to my stomach over this.
