Guys, I have been in and out due to my training for about the past month. I've been here regularly for the past week, and I keep seeing cryptic references to attacks by members and backstabbing and general discontent. I haven't seen any of this, can anyone give me a summary? This really upsets me, especially if this junk is going to be playing a part in the loss of members.

Last summer some standards were put in place for proper conduct on this board. If I remember correctly people who were personally attacking others would be given written reprimands..Whatever happened to that? I had heard that there were some people who were disgruntled due to not being named moderators, is this true?

Fins - I know that there was some members upset because they thought they should be mods and weren't made mods . . . . But most of that discontent was behind the scenes . . . . I'm not sure what the attacks are or where they are either.

I do know that the general feeling on this board has changed since Mike has been out. I didn't realize how much of an impact he makes here, but it's huge. He managed to keep everyone happy, respond to everyone's concerns with empathy and understanding, and make all the members feel like they were special and respected.

With Mike's absence, it's understood that things would be different. It's just such a drastic change, and there have been a lot of times where members have felt completly ignored or disrespected from Admin. The empathy and concern is no longer there to stop the fires before they get bad.

Again, I understand that Admin is short staffed, and that with Mike out things should be expected to be different, but it's a drastic change in the other direction, and can be shocking to people who are used to being treated one way by the "site" and instead are having a totally different experience now.

There have been some fights between members and of course a gang of trolls. I was very happy to see us get global moderator status and to get our own section. We have some good rules in place, but are really needing admin to do any enforcement as a mod cannot lock down a account if needed. Mike is taking personal time and we are keeping up so to speak.

I can vouch for that. I'm not here to anger people, or to start a controversy. Obviously all it took was for Vikas to name me a Mod of the video section and BOOM, I felt like several people were coming down on me. Thanks to Goudah, Roxy, Sassnlucy & Cannr, I decided to remain here and not allow childishness bring me down. I didn't ask if I could be placed in this position, I was asked. Heck I didn't know it would start world war 3.

I've been forwarded a few damaging PM's from member of this forum before about other members. It's like jr. high school. The one person you don't want to know will eventually find out what was said. I do my best to try and not say things I wouldn't want everyone else to here. I fail at times so I am prepared. For the most part I do my best to stay out of all of the backstabbing.

The troll thing needs to be dealt with and I think as a whole we are doing much better.

I agree 100% with cajun, no one has to like you but they need to respect your authority here. I didn't come to this forum because I needed more help with my debt or to make friends.

I first researched the company I was working for and I didn't see too much damaging information about them. Then I visited a time or two more and felt that I could possibly help a few people and I've stuck around.

My main purpose here is to help.

Shazzers, Thank you. I received a few not so nice pm's after I was made a mod. I did volunteer, becuase I am able to be on here pretty regularly and knew I could and would do my best to help. I appreciated the fact that Vikas had faith in me and I deeply appreciate those who have supported me. I like FYI said, am here to help. You are on here alot too and you try to help all the time and you are very creative and talented, like with the video's. I am really happy you decided to stay and screw those who do not like it. There are many others who have benefited from your help.

Fins, I am so happy to have you back and I have missed you. :D

Shazzers, being a Mod is an important role on this site, and those who don't understand or are jealous need to get a life. Only members who show potential to keep the site in line and offer good advice are offered the opportunity to be a Mod - those who make mean-spirited comments towards guests or other members will never make Mod - and I guess that's why they get nasty about it.

I don't like the drama either!! Fins, as you know, since we have been here, there has always been some disgruntled people and attacks, they usually play themselves out, or are taken care of by admin.

I have been attacked by some guests, called a Nazi(loved that one), and the worst attacks have been by members. One member here said that everyone told her that I was a goody-two shoes-, didn't know anything and no one here liked me, that's why a few certain members would never reply to my posts  I had this junk when I was in Jr. High, don't need that now. Also, the worse of the attacks were so nasty I won't repeat them here. I pmd Admin, and they took care of it.

If we want to present a type of professionalism, we have to start to become united, with a single purpose--to help others.

I think some get the wrong immpression about being a mod--it doesn't make you better or worse than anyone else, and if you stick around long enough, you will probably become one--it took me and Fins about a year to become one

Let's try to come together to help others, keep the boards clean and on track, and to support each other..KAren

But, you all do what you do so well. That is one of the reasons I have stuck it out this far. You all go out of your way to help whenever you can...just as recently as a few minutes ago, you came to my rescue. You set the example, sometimes it may seem as if no one is paying attention, but they do. You all are awsome and to those that want to be haters...screw em because they are in the minority. It is easy to be negative when you have not walked in another person's shoes.

Why thank you Shazzers. Can you tell I was a cheerleader in highschool and college??

I work in such a negative environment every day that I have to think that way to save myself from becomming an ugly person and trust me I have moments. I spend my day with the some very ugly people often having to pretent to be different personalities. The people here were so good to me and here for me in a way no one else ever has been and I have learned so much from everyone and not just about debt and finances. This site has allowed me to reconnect with my humanity and has given me an outlet to be able to be myself and to care about others. For that I will never be able to repay you all.

Wow. Ok, I'm gonna have a snuggly moment here...

I am so glad we have this place just for mods!! Every single one of you are great, and it is so wonderful to be able to speak our minds and brainstorm without worrying about being taken out of context or hurting anyone's feelings.

Man! I missed the whole group hug! See what happens when you WORK when you're supposed to work?

shazz, I know people were having a cow when you were named mod. Give me a break. I know you're good at overlooking the little stuff. And, that's what it is -little stuff.

roxy, I know a couple people had a cow when you became mod. So, good for them. Hell, people stopped talking to me! Sure it bothered me at first, but then I figured - Well, I found out who my real friends are! So, it's all good.

Cajun, I'm really, really glad you're back. I did miss you. I was really afraid you were gone for good, and that would have been a bad thing. You are excellent at what you do.

Goudah, I agree with you. Whenever Mike is gone, some kind of drama kicks up. It never fails. He could be gone for a day, a week, or a few months. Within whatever time frame it may be, it seems like the sh*t hits the fan.

Fins, I'm glad to see you back on!!

Bossy, I think you're awesome. You can pretty much tell that you honestly don't give a damn about all the small stuff and just focus on helping people. Love it!

ks, you're ALWAYS very nice. Tell people to "bite you"!

FYI, you get a lot of flack just because of what you do for a living. Which, I personally think is just bullcrap. I mean, who cares. I am just amazed at how many people will lash out at you. And, I'm glad you just stand up for yourself and stay here.

frog, you know I just love you!

I think all the mod's are great. Every mod that has been named mod has deserved it. Honestly. Each and every single one.

The top priority is to help members/guests who come here. I hate to see the stupid posts, the belittling posts, etc. It kills me. I try to just post on like it's not even there. These poor people are here looking for help and in the middle of a thread a friggin fight breaks out. Good Lord!

Anyway, I'm rambling here because I read this whole thread and had to throw myself in.

I'm here to help people who need help. I spend most of my time posting. I don't want anyone overlooked or left feeling as though they weren't given enough help or even worse yet, get bad information.

So, hell, with a team like us, what else could anyone want! :D

Thanks Cannr!! You are also a really big part of this community! You selfishly give your time to read up and search on topics to help others.

This is a tough and thankless position sometimes, so we all need to come together and support each other on the way to helping others.

I,too, am glad for this forum and we can discuss what needs to be done in a private way!..karen

Sorry I missed the group hug but now it's my time to chime in. You all are great and I respect the time/effort you all put into this place. I think we have a good group of mods because we all get along (for the most part) and interact well with each other.

But I agree it's tough managing sometimes when the place is all riled up and hating each other. We tend to have ebb and flows here where everyone gets in a huff over something stupid. Then the ones that start the cat-fights will eventually get pissed off and make a "final rant" before they leave for good; and then the place is back to normal. I'd say it happens every few months, and you just have to bear through it.

Shazz - I was a Debt Sam after like 2 weeks, and then a mod only a month after I was here. Luckily back then I had nothing but support, and nobody was pissing and moaning why I was a mod and they weren't. Just don't worry about it. You have good input, you do good around the site, and we're glad to have you. Doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. And if someone wants to throw a hissy fit over it, then we don't want them as a mod anyway.

I think we have a great Mod team and btw, I was on the boards for almost a year before I became a mod. And you know what, I never worried about not being a mod. Never crossed my mind at all. I just hope I have something to offer that can help people--especially with payday loans. All I can do is say, look this is what I did and hope it helps someone.

Ks, you are wonderful!!

I think people are wanting to become mods because they think that mods still get double points...That info is still floating around somewhere, maybe we need an update..

Actually that isn't a bad idea, maybe there should be some type of post made informing everyone that we receive the same amount of points as everyone else. :)

I thank you for that, when that topic was posted in the Pub after I became a Mod (by you know who lol) I was dumbstruck. I had no clue what the heck all the commotion was over until I was informed by some of you. I was seriously ready to fold up and leave, because for the life of me I couldn't figure out why anyone would make a fool out of their self in a public forum creating a topic asking for the criteria to become a Mod. But, thanks to all you fellow Mods, I stayed, regained my composure and went about my business doing what I am here for.
